How do I get an alternator pulley off?

I just bought another used alternator and this one didnt come with a pulley... so I was going to pull it off my old one. I finally got the 1" bolt off but the thing is still stuck on the alternator. The metal is purplish color, almost looks like it's been welded or something. Is there anything special to getting these things off or do I just need to pull harder?

Should have brought it to an Auto Zone. We'd have helped ya!

Nearest Autozone is something like 250 miles away.

EDIT: The closest one used to be in Vancouver WA but I guess they built one near Olympia. Yay, only a good 2 hour drive (I'm from seattle)

What? No Auto Zones in Seattle? Wait a minute.... I'm gonna call my DM today and suggest it, **** Seattle is a gold mine.

What do you mean it didn't come with a pulley?

Azone stocks a Duralast brand rebuilt Mitsubishi 110A internally regulated alternator for about $127. Its a complete unit with 8rib pulley. Double check what you're buying. If its the 80A regular thunderbird one, it won't work.
