got an extra sc top...can i mod it?

hi, i was just wondering if i can do anything to this extra top i have, i saw those spacers in the classifieds and they seem nice but i don't have the funds. could i make my own spacer somehow? what about cutting out those 3 "bridges" inside the top?

I would not remove the vanes in the top, they help direct and straighten the airflow. You'll need some practice at aluminum welding to pull this off.
