How much is it to get the stock rims chrome dipped. Right now I polished one of my rims, and it looks very very nice. It took forever though. That powdercoating is really on there. Sanding it all down with about 8 different steps, and its likema mirror. I dont know if i want to do the other 3 rims though. It was a lot of work. More than i though. I was trying to find a price to have the other;s dipped, and where to get it done. Any ideas???

it would be a lot, i can tell you that much. I havent had any rims done, but i've talked to some people about redoing the chrome on a 70 Charger... damn that **** is expensive. They wanted a total of about $800 to do maybe a 2 or 3 square feet of metal.

When you did your rim, did you polish by hand? If you get a wheel it goes pretty quick. I know a guy who did each rim on his Z34 and it took him i think a little over an hour or two per rim.

I don't know how much but I bought a set that had been chromed and DAMN!!!. But the chrome is flaking and need to get them redone (Maybe a better job this time :( ). Definately like the chrome though. There are several people that have done it but noone can seem to tell how much. If you find out let us know.

I've been trying to find local shops that will chrome parts...but no luck so far. Yes i did all the sanding by hand, as well all the other parts i polish. Doing it by hand comes out the best, but takes time. I tryed a wheel, but because there are tight spots in the rim...you really cant use it. Its more of a hassel. I tryed a dremel with some sand paper rolls, but thats put deep scratches in the metal ,so i tossed that idea. The rim looks good...i just need to do the other 3. lol. I'll take some pics as soon as i can. Anyone want some parts polished??.....looking for cash.

Since we are on the topic of chromed wheels, anyone got a picture of the 93-95 style that is chromed? Preferably on the car?

here's the 89-92 style chromed. I think they'll look good on my black 92. Thats what started me polishing my rim

Yeah, I thought about faking a set of 35th wheels (I only have one of the originals) and bought a set off of ebay. (175$ shipped so I thought why not) He said they were chromed but I figured he just didn't know what he was talking about. Few days later I open the box and WHOA!! That's what made me decide to get mine redone. I think they will look much better than the 35th wheels.

hey guys....ive been looking around here[maryland] for a place that rechromes wheels.my 94 passenger side wheel up in the front has flaked big time! i really like the factory wheels chromed.people ask me if they came from the factory like that sometimes.the problem ifound around here is a wheel shop will want 250.00 to send it out for a rechrome and its gone for 2 weeks, but you can buy a new one already to go for 300.00.i just cant bring myself to pitch out 300.00 for a factory wheel.but if anymore chrome comes off i might be forced to,or i could wrap it in aluminum foil??shiny side out of course!!??

A note on that white SC w/chromed wheels. He only paid $90/rim to have chromed. But had to ship them from Jersey to CA. That was like $25/rim.... So it was like $115/rim. Came out beautiful though.
