Hey, glad to know you guys are still around and kickin'. Haven't been on the boards like I used to be. I'd like to join the party. Only weekend I know for sure that I wouldn't be able to make it is 11 and 12th. As long as we have meet on any other weekend, I should be able to make it.
I almost had vapor lock recently when I got smacked from behind on I-45 on the causeway going to Galveston. I was lead vehicle in a 3-car collision. Fortunately, I was ok and damage to my car was relatively minimal. Thought I was going to hit the car in front of me. Thank goodness for ABS brakes. Still tryin to get all the insurance crap worked out and get some paint work done. Just had my whole car repainted last March. I learned something new about my rear bumber, that black strip on the 94-95 style bumbers is a separate piece.
Hope to SCeee ya soon!

Man Rick that sucks about your accident. At least you finally got your paint job.
Thanks guys for the call/invite.
I just found my SC list of all the Dallas, and Texas SCers i know of. So Vernon, or Jeff, shoot me an e-mail, and i'll send it to ya.
All you Dallas guys E-mail me if you want to meet around here sometime.
By the way, there is a White SC for sale at a junkyard in Grand Prairie, it looked (from a little distance) to be in good condition, and they aren't letting anyone take parts from it.
(i was in desperate need for a hub, but i finally got it at Pick and Pull in Grand Prairie).
The White SC for sale is off of Loop 12 and Jefferson. I can't remember the name of the junkyard and i don't know how much they are selling it for.
My e-mail addy is AaronPierre@aol.com
Hopefully i'll hear from some of you.

Hey Aaron,
Haven't seen you on here in a long time. As for my car, actually I've been rear-ended twice. First time was about a year ago, thankfully, BEFORE I had the car painted. That accident was minor, just scratced up the paint a little. Pick-up truck hit me at a traffic light, wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. Cop actually had the audacity to say "why are you wanting to file a report aren't you going to have it painted anyways?" I wanted to punch him for that stupidity. I'm just thankful my damages haven't been worse. That rear bumber seems fairly strong for what it has been through. If I get up Dallas way again, I'll try to drop you a note. Hope things are goin' well your way.

You can’t kill Texas squirrels with BB’s, you gotta use pellets. I haven’t had to shoot one in a while, but spring is coming soon so I’ll be on the hunt again. Got a new pellet gun it’s a .22 pistol for those up close and personal shots.

NW side. On Bingle between I-10 and 290. There is a small gokart track and there is a Malibu Grand Prix around the corner from my house. Dinner sounds good, we usually just decide when everybody shows up.

I'm definitely going to be there. I'm up for the go-karts too. Hey Jeff, call Malibu Grand Prix and see if they take the 4-hour unlimited passes. I can buy them at the air force base for about $20 and you get unlimited sprint cars, mini-golf, and bumperboats and 5 laps on virage cars (the fast ones, must be 18+ with valid drivers license). So, how many are planning to make it out there??

Noon or so at Jeffro's, that'll give out-of-towners plenty of time to leave and roll into Houston by 1 or 2pm, shoot the bull and if we all cut out for the kart track etc then great. If we just hang out at Jeffro's for the afternoon and jabber about SC's that's cool too.

Congrats Steve on the new addition! If you can't make it we'll understand.
Wynn don't make me come over there. I'm off all next week and you might come home to one less car.
Noon or so sounds fine to me. We can park at the house across the street (it's vacant and I asked the owner), and if needed across Bingle in the parking lot at my work. But it's not recommended to leave the car there overnight, got my stereo equipment stolen there one time (found it 3 months later, got it back a little over a year later).
Aaron I don't think anything is going on Fri night, but if you want to swing by that's fine by me.
Cal post'em up
I guess if we run out of things to do I still have that 90' 5sp that needs to be taken apart. We could have a strippin party. If any of ya'll need a place to stay let me know. There was a kid in a wheel chair from Granbury, TX who drove a 94-95 screwed up red (you know the non-red red) auto SC that looked the twin to my 95 5spd. We had passed each other before, but he saw me at the Chevron in Benbrook, TX and pulled in. He is the reason I even found out about SCCoA because I was telling him there ought to be a group that shares info and parts for these cars. He told me to look it up on the web a little over a year ago. Bought a few parts since. So the Chevron picture looks great to me too. In our case the cars looked identical sitting there. I saw his car for sale shortly after that.

Well, maybe "blowout" was a poor word to use(at least in regard to the car). Lookin' forward to seein' ya again Calvin, along with the rest of the gang. Good news: I received permission from the "Admiral", so I'm good to go. I plan on arriving about noonish Saturday.
What I'm hopin' to get some help on is solving my ARC problem. Narrowed it down to a "soft relay". And my odometer isn't working. Just got my brake system flushed today, which it was way overdue.
Good luck with the rotor change-out, I gave up on trying to do it myself after sitting out in hot sun last summer and not really having all the right tools. My Hayne's manual was woefully inadequate for my car for that job.

Well of course my car would not cooperate. I am thoroughly depressed and upset with my SC. Just when i was starting to have a little love once again for the car, and ready to head out to the Houstan meet, it destroys me.
I was really looking forward to seeing everyone, especially the guys that i have met from past meets.
I'm sure your wondering...
Problem: The last time i changed the brakes, i used a little anti-seize on some of the bolts that are on the bracket that the caliper sits into. These bolts hold the caliper's bracket into the hub. This turned out to be a very big mistake. The bolt slipped out and tore the inside teeth up, so i may now need to go get yet anouther rear hub and caliper bracket for the SC this time the other side.
Could the anti-seize have caused this? Any ideas?
I'm going to try to fix it up on Saturday, which means no trip to Houston.
As it turns out, two of the DFW guys had allready informed me that they wouldn't make it. Josh also said he was having problems fixing a rev problem or something of that sort and wasn't sure if he'd make it out. Now that i won't be attending, i'm unsure if Jesus will still try to make it.
I hope he finds someone to head out there with him, and makes the trip.

$6,000???? you crazy...?? i got my '95 5-speed for $6,700!!
Me and my SC got to go meet its twin today too :D
I couldnt believe there was an identical blue '95 5-speed only 15 minutes away from my house, and what killed me is it had the retractable antennae, auto light package, and had pin striping that i didnt really like and it has blue interior when mine is gray. What pissed me off the most is my SC has 72,000 miles which i thought was really low and i keep it in the garage now and only drive it about once a week, and its twin i found has 51,000 miles!!! The guy has it up on autotrader and wants $8,000 for it... its awesome though... i gave it a big hug and never wanted to leave, i had my twins in my hands!!! too bad i cant afford a second one, but hopefully my friend can come up with the cash and at least i know its owner will take care of it.
Man that sucks to hear about your car Aaron... sucks to hear that many more aren't going to make it to the meet... I'm still in for it though, planning to head out around 9am on saturday morning and get to jeffs around noon. See ya then!!

Hey, I didn't realize your car was blue. What shade of blue is that. I looked at the one 4sale on autotrader that you mentioned. Almost looks like a royal blue. I have a teal blue 94...it had the retractable antennae I thought all late model SC's had the retractable antennae and the v8's didn't.
Aaron: sorry to hear about your casualty report. I'm keepin' my fingers crossed mine won't give me problems. I gotta shop for some tires soon. As for the anitseize, I'm no expert, but if memory serves you probably should've used loc-tite and not antiseize. Not sure if that would've caused your problem, but may have contributed. Good luck with the repair.

J57ltr..."Ward" asked for info on the TCCoA, I told him to post here so ya could fill him in. Seems the directions etc are sort've lost in the previous pages of this thread since it's grown to so many pages.
Maybe you could post a reply here:

Well guys, moma and kids are important. Not running, well maybe.
But the best excuse to not be in Houston this weekend is attached. Here is number 4 on the way home, tomorrow.
Sorry fella's. Do you blame me?

Not quite, anyone who has ever driven thier SC more than 50 miles from home (uhmum, uhmum, Jeff) would know that you need a flat bed wrecker to get it home. Preferably a crew cab if you can find it. It does bring back memories though, in fact I was just about to buy a tow dolly before I said screw it a parked the SC.
Super Coupes suck.

When was Duffy their?
The miss's had blisters on her heels from wearing boots to the auto show. Other than that, had an excellent time. Unfortunetly for me, she fell in love with Honda Mini Van.
I enjoyed meeting everyone and will hope to gain more knowledge form y'all. If I ever find ilusnforc's SC parked without him around, the ZR intake will be mine.

tbird88 wanted to know if I made it home.
Sorry for not being in Houston. I made it. I paid the price of gaining the flue in OK. It was the coldest days of the year. Car looks good.
Car Dolly:
I use a come-along to put any non-running car on a dolly. It is real easy. I also log chain and lock the car frame to the dolly. I just don't trust tire straps for long drives. If wanting to buy a dolly look for one that has been striped, primered, and painted properly if you are looking for one. New they peel & rust. Also the Wall-Mart magnetic light wires rub through the clear coat. I removed the lights as I remembered what they did to the last one I towed. Hope to find a soft heavy hose that wont rub the paint and that the wind won't wiggle.
Doug
