Manual Transmission Durability

I've a renewed interest in the supercharged thunderbirds and was wondering....

how durable are the manual transmissions?

do they have any known problems?

as far as I was able to tell from searching the forums, most of the problems occur in the Automatics.

any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would say as long as you don't drive like a moron and you know how to actually drive a stick, it'll give you no problems. Powershifting and grinding gears is just bound to give you problems later on.

If you can stand the notchiness that is inherent in the design, they are quite beefy. Parts are getting scarce though to rebuild them so I've seen people looking at options to throw a 6 speed in there.
