hi guys, as you can see i'm fairly new to the SC boards.
i've been a member of 3.8mustang for a while and decided to jump over here after a search for parts.

i own a 95 3.8l mustang that i've never been able to stop tinkering with. port and polish this, swap the top half with that......
my latest endeavor is this:

i want to either swap the top half of a SC engine, or an entire SC engine into my mustang.

any help, ideas, thoughts, or concerns would be greatly appreciated. also, if any of you are in the NH area and would like to meet up sometime, i am more than willing to swap a few stories, and have a good time.

thanks again guys!

hey matt...i live in salem, NH....thats prett damn close....like a 10 min drive into windham. First off...i wouldn't put the blower on your 3.8 block. The block wont be able to handle the power. Your best bet is to just put a complete SC motor in there, because the SC block is a lot stronger than the N/A block. How old are you by the way? Write back if you want some help.

hey thanks. i graduated from salem high in '01.
i'm 20 and a second year plastics undergrad at UMASS lowell.

my original thoughts were that the block could handle the stock boost levels, only if the eaton doesn't put more stress than a cetrifical blower. there are quite a few guys running upwards of 300hp on mustang blocks, but if i'm not mistaken, the eaton style blower puts more stress on things..

there's a few guys on here selling parts of whole engines pretty cheap. some guy's getting rid of his whole engine for less than 400bucks..

what i'd like to do is get my hands on one and go to town porting the heads and the lower intake. it wouldn't matter if it was the older style blower with the oval opening because i can quite easily port that out to a larger size..

if the parts are cheap enough, and they are available, it's not like it's a hard thing to do. i'd like to give the mustang an extra kick in the pants.

if you know anywhere to direct me for parts of advice please feel free. i'm probably going to call a few salvage yards around the area and see what i can dig up. you really can't go wrong when you can buy the blower for less than 250bucks, so we'll see what else i can get my mits on and just go nuts.

i'm dying to see what full out race heads would do for power on a SC engine! i'm itching to get my grinder on one...

thanks again for your help.

Hey you two,

I'm a '98 graduate of salem high school. I don't post here much, as my car is a 95 4.6

I think I met fastSC92 at FFW this year. i had the green 95 with the SC wheels. If I'm not mistaken, you have a black SC.

Oh, matt, I know of a junkyard in Salem with a SC in it. As far as i know, the engine is complete. It had a small interior fire. I've pulled a few parts off that thing myself.

Let me know if you are interested and I'll try to give you more info.

i appreciate the offer.
once i didn't here from that guy in manchester i continued starting up a small business, as seen below, so i don't think i'll be touching any sc's anytime soon.
if i need anything i'll be sure to let you know though.
thanks a bunch.

ya BostonCat..i remember you. I've done a lot more to the car since then...and blew the tranny apart at the track 2 days before they closed. Its all better now, did it myself. Anyways, I look forward to going again next year and actually racing all weekend. I can run some consistant 13.7-13.8's.....we'll see how I hold up. Plus, I think i'll have a nitrous kit in store by then...hehehe
