Here is a quote from Thomas A in the tech section where someone else just asked about this, turn on the firm setting and count the flashes. One means Rear Left:

...
Hey Sam, what's going on. One flash means that the REAR LEFT actuator is having some sort of problem. It might be bad, or the contacts might just need cleaning. Here is the code system:

1 Flash = Rear Left
2 Flash = Rear Right
3 Flash = Front Right
4 Flash = Front Left

...

I thought mine just would blink once and then not again, but I just didn't give it enough time to blink again. Sounds like you have the same actuator having trouble as I do, left rear.

Just bought a 91 SC. 66,555 miles. Cool car! My firm ride light blinks. Saw the posts on it. Who can work on this? Hopefully not just the dealer. Is this a major expense? Anything else I should look for. Starting the fix up process.Thanks.
