The last time i changed my oil i think i may have put about a half to one quart to much in. what exactly does having too much oil do to the engine?

hmmm..
From what I have heard, putting to much oil in the engine can be just as bad as having to little. One thing I have heard is that since theres to much in there, the crankshaft beats the oil to death and in the process adds a lot of air to it, "airating" it. I don't beleive it flows as good, and in turn starves certain parts of the engine. This is what I have heard anyways.
Why worry about it anyways? Why don't you just open the drain plug for a second or 2 and let a little out.
