Repositioning cam sensor....

I read in one of my fuel injection mauals that these cars are supposed to have No.1 at 26 degrees after TDC, and another doesn't say anything about it. I have the positioning tool, does No. 1 have to be 26 deg after TDC?

cam sensor replacement

com'on guys, we really need to know the answer to this question. Many of you have talked about replacing the cam sensor to fix various problems that I'm currently experiencing, and I need to know if I need to worry about TDC placement or not. Please respond!

If all you're doing is replacing the sensor, you don't need the tool. The only time you need to worry with alignment is if you've disturbed the cam shaft.

Thanx, TBirdSCfan for the reply and info. I was starting to get worried that I would have to stick my head in the #1 cylinder to find TDC!

I changed the sprockets, button gear, chain, chain damper, and synchronizer assy. Does anyone know if No.1 is supposed to be 26 ATDC?
