Fog Light Relay Part No

I'd like to install a relay in the fog light circuit to reduce current through the multi-function switch. The relay must have voltage suppression to protect the ECM. I've seen references to a Bosch relay that has voltage suppression but I've never seen a part number. The local parts houses aren't very cooperative when it comes to looking up such information; they don't want to be bothered unless you have a part number. Can anyone help out here?

A nice generic Bosch 5-pin relay is available from Ford under part number FOAZ 14N089 A. This is used on many vehicles from the early 90s right up to the new models, for a variety of different circuits, so I'm guessing it would have the suppression feature you mentioned. They are about $8 CAN up here in the Great White North, so maybe $5 US ???

Thanks, Lance. I had seen your article earlier and plan to follow it exactly. The only uncertainty was the relay to use as I don't want a voltage surge frying the computer!
