The tensioner for the accessory belt is right next to the A/C compressor. I can't see anyway of rerouting the blet without the A/C because of the tensioner
Check out the threads below where they talk about a A/C delete pulley.
The only issue with it is that it is a 6 rib pulley and ours is a 8 rib belt. So you need to cut two ribs off the stock 8 rib belt. But N/A birds had only 6 ribs so there shouldn't be a problem.
Does the A/C pulley really add that much drag? To me, it add no more parasitic drag than the jackshaft pulley. Essentially, as long as the A/C compressor isn't engaged, its free spinning.
i think the its binding up ,
can you put a freee spining pully in its place ?
ill know if its binding up tomarrow when i take the belt off and spin it
how much is a new one anyway?
If the compressor is binding, you should hear it or notice black dust from where the belt rubbed on it. On my friends truck, the compressor is locked up, if you plug the clutch back in it sounds like a damn train horn.
