Hey guys,
This is for any one interested in a group buy for fiberglass hoods. I'm trying to put something together for 94-95 Cobra R cowl style hoods. I've talked to Dave and Kevin at Canadian Custom Fiberglass a few times and this is what he had to say:
"If there is a group of more then five people then anything is possible to have it made for you. What you are looking at for prices is: $450 cdn for the plug to be made if it is not supplied, then every hood if you have more then five people you are looking at $300 for each hood, under five people you are looking at $450."
If you guys are interested, let's please get on this.

dont give them money upfront, and give them a hood you dont mind "losing" if they need one. Also ask them for the latest deadline in writing
I'm not kidding:eek:

Put me down for a 94 style hood. I found a Cobra R style hood from Age Classic designs in Texas, not exactly around the corner from us but the hoods look great.

Wayne,
Be very careful with Canadian Custom Fiberglass. I worked with Dave almost a year ago to try to put together a group buy on some hoods for our club members. He was very slow to get back to me with info, and then I started hearing very troubling stories from some people in the 'Stang community who had ordered through them. I was supposed to go and tour their facilities, but whenever we tried to set this up, they mysteriously had some sort of problem preventing it from happening. They once told me they had a fire at their facility in Hamilton, but I never saw or heard anything in the local media.
Just don't put any money down until you get a firm (and legally binding) commitment from them.
I would like nothing more than for us to find a local manufacturer/supplier for stuff like fiberglass hoods, but these guys scare me a little bit.
Best regards,
Sean

Maybe we can all work something out with Jeff from the dyno place for both 89 to 93 and then 94 to ? hoods

I'm more than willing to work with Jeff, but I've never talked to him. I'd like to get this thing rolling if it's a go because I want to finish the body work on my car. If Dave's shop seems questionable, then let's work something out with Jeff.

If anyone wants to see some thier work, I have a hood from them in my garage. Kendra got the hood, I took over it from hrer through s business deal. The hood is for a '94-'95. Just aplain stock hood, no raised cowl, or anything like that.
I talk with the guys from Canadian custom at a car show in Niagra, they seemed ok to me. See where it goes, when you talk with them. Just becarefull, with dealing them ,they seem to have a "rep"

I've heard so many horror stories about fiberglass hoods on tccoa.com. Typically the hood that the buyer gets is such a bad fit, the cost doubles or triples to get it to fit and painted. I think
Edna has the right idea, put LX hoods and lights on your SC.

Although a rare occasion, I agree with Mikey on this one.
Unless you need the extra room to fit something under it, a raised hood is more hassle than it's worth.
The 96-97 hood and lights are a nice enough touch.

Actually, I've recently conjured up a design for a FMIC that would fit under a stock hood, and be a smoother design that the MP version currently available.
Sean and I are going to experiment with the idea if all goes as planned.

Bruce: None of the aftermarket hoods will clear that top mount ic anyways

Tazzer, I'm sure what Bruce meant was he is need of soem sort of a raised hood. So man of his fabricating skills could make one fit just right.
Bill I would love to see or hear about it.
