It was not me, but a good friend of mine got an 89 SC 5 spd for $500. It had a 120K miles on it but it ran pretty good for 500 dollars. It could still roast my 94 V8, and it has never had any mods. The reason he got it so cheap is the guy who owned it had really bad luck with that car: he got into several small accidents with it and his dad backed into it with a semi. All the accidents just made it have a bunch of dents in it, but it still looks all right, ALL the dents could be fixed fairly eisily, the semi accident mostly only smashed one of the rear corner lights. I would have to say though, he got one hell of a car for 500.

I paid $7500 for my 35th anniversary 2 years ago with 42xxx miles, I am selling it to one of my friends in a week for $8700 with ram air hood and cobra r wheels on the car with 75xxx miles in almost perfect condition not because it's a bad car, but because I hate aod in it and because I just bought 90sc 5-speed with 82xxx miles for a $1000 and I need the money, I also paid $800 for my 88 t-bird turbo coupe and working on it right now, it's my daily driver. I can't drive nothing but t-birds

i bought a '90 xr7, not a anniv, aod, auto headlights, auto high beam dimmer, probably all the stuff you guys have, some small dents, PERFRCT interior with the exception of the small crack in the dashboard. black with maroon interior for $3150 with 105XXX on it. now it has 108XXX, kenwood deck, 1800 watt power accoustic amp, soon to be 3 jl audio 15's(box is getting built), seperate battery and capacitor for amp, small kenwood amp for the 4DEI 6X8's, remote start, alarm, tinted windows, eyebrow with huge white "MERCURY" letters in it, and soon to be polished stock wheels, along with soon to be homemade ram air. i have to slow down on the toys for the car, i only had it 3 months and i have to pay the loan off before i do anything else, well the exhaust is a exception, the stock is too restricted.

I bought my black '93 SC in February of '93 for around $27,000. It came with every available option - except a moonroof. Today, it has 63,000 miles and is still running strong and looking good...

I may be selling it early next year if anyone's interested. I'm the original owner, and it's 100% stock... e-mail me... rcjohnson@cox-internet.com
I bought my 95 SC(5-speed) with every option and 46,000 miles( maroon color, not my favorite),
for $12,000 out the door from a dealership(back 4 1/2 months ago) . I think I paid too much. But I
bought my 90 SC AOD (118,000 miles) good condition (back in august of 99) for $4000, that was
a good deal, but later I found it to be plagued with problems.

I actually had to go to Conn. to pick up the car (I live in Florida) so yeah,I'm certifiably insane! It was a one owner,a dentist (hey I'm not anti- Dentite or anything) and the guy had always bought Fords only.He had a new explorer and F 150 and the SC just had to go,but my brother picked up the car from the guy(I drove it home to florida from my brothers house-what a great trip!)and he said the guy had a tear in his eye when he pulled away.At least he sold it to someone who really appreciated it,and would be mighty surprised I still had it actually...

I paid $10,500 for my fully loaded 95 auto SC with 65k. the guy was asking almost $13k for it. i just told him 10,5 was all i had and i could give him the money on the spot. It was a tough decision for him but he couldnt refuse the cash on the spot offer. i highly recommend this technique!!!

93 SC (3 years old) - $13,000 w/2yr ext. warranty included (paid for itself many times over, warranty company hates my guts)
90 SC (8 years old) - $1,500 w/blown engine...rebuilt the engine myself this summer (around 1500 bucks spent on that for machine work and new parts).

$11,700 for a 95 5-speed with 30,000 miles. In May, I flew from Boston to Phoenix and drove it back - 2,800 miles. This is my second SC. My first was a 90 5-speed. It was a year old and I paid $16,000 for it. I just sold it to a local high school kid. It had 137,000 miles on it and still ran great.

Paid $1500 for my 89 in October 99. Car is fully loaded except for Auto climate control. Had a rod knock and no one wanted to work on it. I took it home, took it apart, got an engine from a 94 SC wrecked,(cold day in February)with 60,000 miles, installed it myself, and was running by the middle of February. Car has started everyday since and has NEVER given me any problems except for dumping Bosch plugs for Autolites. I've probably spent about $2600 total. What a steal! Now the real spending starts for various "go fast"goodies.

I sold my Thunderbird '73 for the same amount that I paid for it (about $ 8500,-) and got my SC'89 for free with it. (see www.geocities.com/MotorCi...1989.html) (http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Flats/9430/tbirdpics/1989.html))
The car needed an overhaul for $ 2500,- and now runs perfectly.
Needles to say that I still miss my old '73-bird.

I paid right at 10,000 for my 92 SC back in 1998. It had just turned over 44k miles. It hardly has any options(no passenger power seat, no moonroof(dammit), no vmm, no premo stereo) but it does have a very unusual interior cloth trim I haven't seen much elsewhere.

1989, 130K miles, AOD, all the goodies, everything works including A/C and the automatic lights, and I paid $3K. Put @2K in since by my choice mostly. I drove the car 500 miles each weekend for 14 months without any problems. Car is a blast to drive. Every penny was worth it. Quick story of how I bought the car. I went to dealer for test drive, pulled over to side of road, told him to hold on, lit rear up for a few feet, and said, "yup, I'll take it!" He called me a few choice names and made me pull over. I've never looked back since, best $3K I've ever spent!

I got mine for a little less than $200 from my friends 18yr old son who didn't know want to work on the car. He bought new brake pads, window motors a new high pressure power steering line, and new tires. His girl friends brother trashed the 5 sp. It needs the front windshield, new dash, and the windows glued back into the track. The body was in pretty good shape.
I traded a S-10 that I got from a friend that wanted an alarm w/ remote start and window roll-up, so it cost me the alarm, window module and labor. I think I did Pretty good.

I got my 94 at a dealer in sept. of this year.Bright teal on the outside, what a beauty.Since my dad went to highschool with the owner of the dealership I got the car for 6995$ when it was priced at 8995$.So I guess I can say I got connections. Its only got 70xxx miles.Since I've owned it I've put ventshades on, windows tinted 5% all around professionally, and have 2 12" pionee ubs in the trunk.I also had connections with the subs: they are brand spanking new, a guy that works with my dad got re married and his new wife made him sell everything fast..&cheap..I got em for 40 bucks!!!thats a steal.
Anyways I might sell my bird for a real SC, I am not sure right now cause things are going good.

I paid 10995 for my 95 auto with 82000mi on it. It is fully loaded everything, except the CD player, but I got a ford 6 disc changer I am going to install in to it. I have owned the car since may '00 and have 99000 miles on it now. I guess I drive too much. makes me mad cuz it came with a 12000/12mo full powertrain warranty. and now it is up and now problems have occured ( motor mounts, bushings, fender bender that wife did, warped rotors, bad alignment..)all this started appear ing just as the warranty ran up. Oh well I have a hefty refund coming so I will get it all fixed up. I guess 11000 is the going rate for a 95 loaded SC auto in mint. couldnt find one lower than that

Ok I think that I have everyone beat for paying the most for a used SC. Almost two years ago I bought my black 95 SC 5 SP for $13500, they were asking $15000. It had 20k miles and was perfect, so I couldnt resist. I wasnt even looking for a new SC and was happy with my 90 auto, but once I saw my 95 it was time for a new car. I took it home that same day and I am very happy with it.

i paid $350.00 for my 1991 sc, white ,5speed. the body is in great shape, when i bought it, the harmonic balncer was broke. found a good used one for $85.00. the guy i bought it from, had it rebuilt about 30k. back, but then it just quit running and he did not want to pay for anything else.
i've had it running for about 2 weeks, but it sat for 1year and has alot of litte things wrong with it. so i think i've done good so far:::::::

I paid $4800 for my SC about a year and a half ago. It's cardinal red, grey interior, it's actually in really good shape, she had 71k miles on her when i bought her. The only thing wrong with it was the usual used SC things, sagging ground effects, and actually the clamps on the hose around the supercharger were barely even on there, I wondered why the car wasn't that fast, I was only puching 7 psi, i was dissapointed until i was cleaning my engine and i felt the clamps, so i tightened them and it boost me up to 13 psi. I was shocked at how amazing it was, I accidently roasted the tires cause i wasn't expecting the power. I love my fricking car.

I got a hell-uv-a deal on my 90 XR7. My Grandfather had bought it new in 90. It was the first of its kind in the Daytona Beach area. Only 3 others were sold from the dealership. So far I'm the only XR7 w/ a 3.8SC in my area. I only had to pay the tax on his new car. Total I paid aprox. $1200 for a car that was in mint condition.

I passed on a '91 SC that the dealership had marked down to $20K in February '92 for a '92 5.0 sport. Loved that car, but really missed not being able to get the 5-speed. I know a guy who worked at the Lorain (OH) assembly plant where they developed the 5.0 SPORT package, said they had a blast putting the 5.0 motors into the test mules, but they roached too many trannies and axles, so had to detune it with intake and exhaust restrictions. Hopefully I will find a 5-speed SC with low miles to satisfy my cravings-even for a while!

The guy I bought my 91 SC from was asking 1450 and he talked me down to 1200. Ok, you gotta deal! I had to get the aod worked on and a few other things like, power widow motors and switches. It had 197+ on the odometer when I bought it in July of this year. The speedo stuck, that's been replaced and the radio readout was dim, that's been replaced too. I've also added some goodies along the way. I had a 88 GT with T-tops with a 5 speed. I loved that car, but this one is just as much fun to drive if not more. And the SCs are more rare than the GTs, so it's a nice attention getter as well. The more I spend on it, the more I want to keep it.

Just bought my first one. It is a white 1991 5spd. Motor has a rod knocking from being ran out of oil. It ran out of oil due to bad mounts letting the crossmember wear a hole in the oil pan.
I also have an 85Bird that I put a 3.8LSC engine in back in 97. I bought the complete motor out of an Early 90's model back in 1996. It had about 20k on it and I have put annother 15k on it since. I paid 250 for the complete motor from the super charger to the pan. I am going to put the motor out of the 85 back in the 91 to get it on the road quickly. I will have about 1500 in it after a new clutch, eng & trans mounts, and misc other stuff. Not sure if I am going to keep the 85 or just junk it.

White with black leather interior, auto, moonroof. I think the CD player is the only option it doesn't have.
Now has 120,000 with nice new head gaskets and motor mounts. If it behaves itself for the next 8 months or so, it just may get that new paint job.

Bought my first XR7 in may of 2000 w/98k for $3500. Black, grey cloth, no options. Drove it three years only needing a clutch and rebuilt tranny.
Second one bought in march 2003 w/161k for $800. Red black leather all options except moonroof and JBL. I swear it was the better of the two. Unfortunatly, 2 weeks ago the abs motor went up in flames and roasted almost all my under hood wires.... Needs complete wire harness under hood, abs assembly and hood and fender. I am soooooo sad......

Picked up my 1993 in February this year for 4k even. It was a Black/Black leather 5 speed with moderate options inc sunroof & vmm. 87k on the odometer when I bought it, all stock. Runs well, but have found various problems so far mainly related to outdoor environment.
Overall was def. overpriced, but it is in fair condition with nice paint, a well running drivetrain, and a very nice interior.
Certainly among the most unique modern cars I have encountered. :)

I paid $6000 for it (but only paid taxes on $3000 :D)
It's got a few bolt-on mods and decent exhaust, plus the new engine 25k miles ago. I figure with the new engine, I shouldn't have to worry about headgaskets for a while longer. The receipt for the job was $2200 minus the $1000 for keeping the old one.
The wife had given me an $8000 budget, and I was happy to find a '95 5speed that fit.
BTW, I'm still getting a hard time for the $2500 I spent ont he RX-7 with 150k miles. This car is 8 years newer and has 129k, so I certainly didn't pay a premium for low-mileage....

I paid $3000 for my white '93 SC back in June '03. I did kind of get ripped off just because of the fact that i couldn't even drive it the first 4 days I had it because I had to rip out the gas tank and replace a gasket so that it didn't leak gasoline. I also had to clean the fuel injectors, replace plugs, wires, fuel pump and an alternator so far plus it badly needed new tires from the test drives at the dealership(it needs new tires again:rolleyes: ). It had 124,XXX miles on it when i got it and I've put on around 12,000 since then. All in all it's been a great car and I don't plan on selling it. Little bit of bad luck though, last night me and one of my friends were sitting at McD's eating and one of my friends came in and said he hit my car. He wasn't lying, the rear driver's side turn signal lamp is busted out, the bumper is smashed in on the side and a bunch of the paint cracked off and the fender has two dents of about 6" in diameter. But it is a blessing in disguise i guess because my bumper badly needed repainting and i suppose now at least I won't have to pay out of my own pocket for it huh?

I don't think most of you paid too much. At least your car was running and probably close to you and in good shape.
In my case I bought my company car 95-5spd after driving since new for 7 yrs. It had one cylinder low compression so engine rebuild, and cats leaking. So at 1500 it was OK.
Now I purposly wanted a fleet of beater SCs to modify for road race track, and a street rod.
So 2 wrecked 89 AOD at 100 and 200. 200 car drives bu tno brakes. The 100 is on membership 2 link and I have 4-4.5k in it now and it just blew HGs.
I got 2 SCs from a family in Nebraska 89-5 broken harmonic and 90-AOD drivable, for 1200 so 600 each.
Oklahoma 90-5 with rod knock @ 600
91-5 that run but had new rebuilt master cyl ABS system for 610, won on ebay.
I already owned a 91 N/A strpping for track and V8.

Being only 14 when i got my 1992 LX in March of 2003, I moded it lightly, no engine. Put in a stereo and got it painted custom (BMW Orient Blue Metallic w/ red, blue and green flake). I sold that in March of 2004! I sold that after I got my 1993 SC in Feb of 2004:). I'd say that's pretty good for a 15 year old, especally having to do it with my own money. I work for everything I have and will get  My SC is an auto, but I have considered maybe converting it eventually, depends, who knows. I'll get more power before changing that, it seems complicated? Maybe not, anyone have info, drop me some sometime.
Anyways, I got my 93 SC for $2000, i talked them down from $2500 and they wanted me to have it because I actually knew things about the car compared to other people, they wanted to give it a good home :)
Thanks,

1992 SC 5-speed black on black leather 100% stock, bought when I was 16 years old in July of 1998 from my friend for $3500. He had recently had the head gaskets replaced and then decided it was time to sell it. It had about 99k miles on it.
1990 SC AOD titanium on black leather 100% stock, bought in April of 2001 from another friend of mine I went to high school with. I was 18 at the time. I paid $3000 for the car, it had a recent transmission, water pump, and ball joints replacement. Mileage was at 161k and the trunk lid had a dent from him backing into his brothers truck. I put a new trunk lid on it and tinted the windows, blew head gaskets at 182k. I did the job myself and cleaned and replaced everything I took off the car. It runs like a raped ape now, and has 192k miles on it.
1990 SC AOD titanium on black cloth, bought it from a friend of mine back in February for $100.00 thats right $100 bucks. We did the head gaskets ourselves and then the balancer broke off and we put a new balancer on it but it slid off. The crank is worn at the end. So he lost interest. I towed it to my house, I'm gonna pull the engine out and put in a new rotating assembly (stroker) and put it in one of my other SC's. I bought a 460 big block to swap into this SC and am looking for a deal on a good C6 trans to pick up for this car. This car is going to be getting a cage, mustang hubs, weld drag lites or pro-stars w/ E/T streets in the back and front runners. It will keep the SC body, fiberglass hood and trunk lid, maybe doors also, racing seats w/ harnesses, rear seat removed and I'm going to build a bad *** motor. 460 block, stock crank and rods for now, bored .060" flat top pistons 10:1 compression, ported stock heads w/ larger valves (performer RPM's sooner or later), new valve springs, big cam, new pushrods and lifters, Performer RPM manifold, 750 CFM Performer carb, 16 gallon fuel cell, 200 hp shot of nitrous, ported exhaust manifolds, no cats, h-pipe, 2.5" true duals w/ 40 series flowmasters out back, 4.10 gears, B&M shift kit, B&M mega shifter, try to fit 90/10 stang shocks up front, lower it a bit, want to keep it street legal (turn signals, head lights, insure it as a V6 SC and keep a plate on it, drive to shows and track) looking for mid 11's on motor and mid to high 10's w/ the nitrous. Eventually it will get the aluminum heads, custom headers, maybe an 8-71 blower, or higher compression and possibly a 514 stroker crank.
I'm 21 now and have been into SC's since I have been about 14 years old and saw a 35th SC racing a Z28 when I was out riding my bike one day. The SC won and I knew it wasn't a regular tbird, so I did some research and fell in love with the cars. I've had a few other cars but over the time only have held onto my SC's.
If I buy another car it'll be an 87 Grand National or a blacked out t-type.

800$, 1989, 5 speed, 100xxx miles on it. Had a new coat of paint, The tranny requires duoble clutching so it does not grind, I am thinking all orig plugs n wires, came no cats/resonator, very nice body, very nice interior.

$400 for 2... one had a rusted body and was a 3.8 LX with premium sound and the prefered equip. package, the other was a basemodel with a reasonable body and a 3.8 that knocked louder than I've ever head before (engine AND balljoints). Drove them both home across the city with no insurance. :*)

Back iin '94, I'm in college hanging out one day. Phone rings, it's my father. He asks how much money I have. I say $1800. He says come pickup the Cougar. Used my $1800 for downpayment on a Mountaineer.
Being 21, in college, with that car was so nice :)
He'd ordered it new at $18,700, but I seem to remember him having to wait a long time to get it. Something about engine and tranny problems. Either way, we took a test drive when it arrived and you could see how much it brought him back to his old high school days and fast cars. That sealed the deal right there, and I've still got the beast today.
She'll be 15 come Sept. 8 :)

$1000 in '98 when I was 15. It was wrecked in the drivers side front (hit a tree come to find out). drove straight but ran rough so I put $35 for a new intercooler tube nut from the top of the blower and drove it around. Now only around $9000 dollars and 6 years later I have a white SC with white leather and chrome rims and a second engine (Feb '04).

I bought mine Feb. 2001 for $2500. In Nov.2003 My neighbor let my cousin ride his bike; 130 mph and an air-lift later the bike ended up in my front fender and my cousin ended up in I.C.U.. Insurance give me $2200 for the repairs. Now the weird part is that I bought the car from the same neighbor that the bike belonged to. So I guess I paid $300(plus a new fender and paint) for a loaded '90 SC 5-speed.

well, I had a refund from college - got more scholarships than I expected, and still took out loans. ended up with $1500 - parents talked dealer down to $1300, but they gave me a refund check for not being able to cover plates. so after all that, about $1239. however, after being out of college for six months, that's going to start collecting interest. either way, not too shabby.

I bought a 91 white with red interior aod with all options that was in great shape. car had 139xxx miles and had a rebuilt supercharger and head on it. the tranny was shot but i bought it on ebay for $328. 2 weeks later there was a gentleman on this board that knew i was lookin for a tranny and mailed me and said he had one. I could either buy the tranny or the whole car. he said it was a parts car, and the price was $650. We finally agreeded on $600, the car was a 90 auto, red with black cloth with all options and 130xxx. when i got there, the car was immaculant. other than where it had been lightly hit in the rear, the bumper cover was creased and the support was bent, the interior was cherry and everything worked. it runs like a champ as its now a daily driver, and i payed $50 for a support, $80 to put it on a frame rack and pull the sheet metal by the trunk, and fixed the cover. u cant tell it was ever hit, and total, ive got $730 in it. I also found a tranny that was rebuilt for my 91 for $150, so total in both cars that run, drive and look good, is $1208, NOT BAD HUH!!!!! :)

Bought mine back in Feb. paid $1,900, and had to drive 600 miles to get it. Since then I have put well over $1,000 in it just to keep it running. The valve covers leak like bastard, I can't keep clutch fluid in the thing and both doors won't close all the way due to sagging hinges. I want to keep it, but due to the lack of parts, and how expensive they are, I'll keep her running until the first of the year then sell her. :(

Well, I'll be picking up my 1st Super Coupe tomorrow morning for $1100. I sold a 93 T-Bird LX for the same amount so I basically traded a 93 LX T-Bird for a 90 Super Coupe. I have wanted a Super Coupe for so long it isn't funny. I tried a brand new 90 SC out when I was in the Air Force back in Arkansas. I was hooked on the looks and performance from the beginning. I've been looking over a year and found this one finally on these boards.
We also have a 93 Cougar XR7 with the 3.8L in it. I know it's not a 4.6L engine, but that car is one awesome ride. It's charcoal black metallic with grey interior. I found this car at the Chevy dealership I work at. Seems a young lady brought it in on a rainy Saturday morning because she couldn't get the passenger side window up. While the techs were attempting to fix the window problem, she looked at some new cars. On a whim she filled out a credit application and was approved for a brand new 2002 Monte Carlo SS. She didn't even get a trade-in on her Cougar. She tossed the keys to the salesman and told him to do what he wanted with the car. She mailed the title to the dealership the following week. They parked the Cougar on the wholesale lot and I found it when I was in desperate need of reliable transportation. There was plastic taped over the passenger window, but when I started looking her over I could see it was in really great shape and just needed a new owner to baby her and give her some TLC. I went in and got the keys and it started right up without any hesitation. Needless to say, the rest is history. I was hooked on that car and still am. The real kicker of the whole deal was I only paid $100 for the car with 84k original miles and the car was sold in Tampa, Florida. We found the window sticker and invoice and everything in the car when we were cleaning it out. Oh, as for the window problem, it was a loose connection at the window motor. We plugged it back in all the way and haven't had any trouble with it since.
With the great luck I had with that Cougar, I've been hooked ever since on the Cougars and T-Birds. I just hope I have as good luck with my new Super Coupe as I have the Cougar and 93 T-Bird. :D
I am also the new owner of a 88 Cougar LS that was just given to me. It needs head gaskets, but I am really looking forward to having that bodystyle in my collection as well. It's a dusty rose colored car with dusty rose interior to match. I love the color combination and can't wait to get my hands on that car and bring it back to showroom condition too. ;)
And to think until the past year or so I'd been a Chevy maniac! By the way, if anyoen is looking for any 4th Generation Monte Carlo SS's, let me know. I have 3 for sale!

i paid $1776 for my 91 SC, with like 130K on it in april 2003....it was kinda a mistake.
synchro was GONE in 2nd, the motor mounts had broken and the motor had sagged so low the oil pan was resting on the cross member...the guy had driven it long enough where it actually rubbed for so long against the cross member that it wore a hole through the oil pan! The rear brakes were metal on metal, the radio had been ripped out, and then whole antenae assembly had to be replaced....
I fixed all that...THEN I CRASHED IT!!!! AHHHH. It'll be back soon though, absurdly worked.
Edit: Oh, i bought it online, from alabama, and i'm in NY so i had to have it shipped, that cost me another $495, all in all i think i had the car on the road for 7 months before i crashed it and spent about 7000 (custom exaust, repairs, initial cost, shipping)on it total.....1000 a month...craziness

It's a black 94 SC with most if not all the toys. It listed for $26,650 new at a Florida dealership. They claim they gave it to me at cost which was $23,000. Hard to tell what's what with these sales guys but I was able to manage the payments and I've been in love with the car ever since. Good thing I have had GEICO mechanical breakdown since day I bought it or else I'd be hard pressed to be able to afford to keep it on the road.

I paid $500.00 for an '89 white SC in '96? Car had 110,000 miles. Girl said the ABS pump was shot and transmission was bad. Replacement more than the car was worth. Well I put fluid in the transmission and lived with the sporadic hard brakes. I just brought it out of storage after 5 years. I figure I have spent near $5,000 in the decade I have owned it. Prior will cost me a pretty penny now. New tires and wheels recently set me back $1,300.00, Prior add $800.00, the removal and install add another $500.00. Paint and body might be $3,000.00. The headgasket was replaced five years ago

I think I paid about 16k for my '90 auto it was a demo and had 10kmi but it was clean and sweet white full leather (blue) JBL moon roof. Took it to CA and was offered 20k by a dealership (stupid me shoulda took it) got stationed in Hawaii and couldn't afford the Pmts. Traded it in on an econo-box til I could afford another car. two weeks later I saw my baby at Pearl Harbor! A HPD cop was driving it! (Looked funny with the blue bubble on top).
Was looking for a truk when my wife found this '93 5 spd. in Pearl City. I paid 13.5k in Hawaii for my '93 in '95. It had 13kmi on the odo, d**n near unrapped that deal and the dealer 'cuz it started sputtering on the way home!
Took it back and the made it right (bad fuel filter). Since then she's made the trip accross the Pacific (in a sealed container---No sea spray), been back and forth east to west coasts several times.
How much have I put into her to keep her going? $8k not including fuel, oil or water or warranty work. Hell, just dropped 2k of that this month! brakes,NEW bumper cover, exhaust, ac conversion speedo and window parts......and tools. We love our 'bird. The wife won't let me have my way with her until she gets a new(er) vehicle (4x4). These cars are addictive!!!!!!!!! I think more so than my '60/70's Mopars.

I bought mine with 130,000 in February for $1500. I drove it from North of Seattle to my home in Albuquerque through 3 blizzards, as it somehow escaped me that I'd be driving through the Rockies in the prime of ski/snowboard season.
I never said I was all about brains.
The car made it fine, despite a dying cylinder and a number of truly stupid fixes by the previous owner. The driver was in somewhat worse shape, both sleep-deprived and having driven anywhere from 20 following tire tracks in the snow to just under 100 mph on dry stretches.
The motor just got rebuilt, and as soon as the clutch pedal assembly gets here, I may have to plan another road trip.

I paid $1700 for my 90 SC 5spd 3 years ago. I then paid $450 for a wrecked 95 LX for the interior, then $1200 to transplant the "good" floorpan from the 95 LX into the 90 SC.
I've still got $1500 to alkaline dip the 90 SC, and then God only knows how much to paint it, finish up the engine mods, get the suspension mods, etc....
By the time it is done, it will still be the NEWEST 1990 SC on the road......lol

under the carpet, in the doors, under the trunk carpet, behind the rear quarter interior panels. they didn't put the insulating layer back in though, just the carpet... so i have to get some and put it in with some new carpet when i have time. I guess it's not really a "mod" but it sure makes the car solid sounding and pretty quiet.

Didn't run right when i got it, 6 months ago, still doesn't run right now, but being over in the desert like i am, $2000 in parts will change it's tune and i'm going to be selling it soon after i get it fixed probably for around $2500-$3000 cause i'm going to Japan this coming up May. It's pretty much going to have a new upper end, to include a "new" (actually used from super coupe performance dot com) and some performance mods as well
