sup guys
I need a turn signal module (I think that is waht it is called)
It is located underneath the dash below the steering wheel.
In order foir me to use my turn signals I needed to fideget with this module underneath the sterring wheel. Now It doesnt work at all.
So if anyone knows the part number please reply because I am sick and tired of using my hazards as indicators.
BTW I went to the Ford dealership on Queen ST Brampton and they had no clue what I was talking about (is it my english?)

Rocky, I'm not sure what you're after either ... the signals are controlled by the lever on the steering column obviously, and the electrical portion of that is visible when you remove the plastic shrouds of the column. I've never even sold a flasher for an SC, do these cars have the big relay-style combo signal / hazard flasher like the Taurus and a few other Ford vehicles ? Didn't think so, but I'll have to check the listings when I'm back at work tomorrow.
thx

hey ROCSC,
it sounds like your multi-function switch is dirty or the contacts are worn out. if it's dirty simply take it apart and clean its insides. if the contacts are worn out like they were on mine take it apart and put some globs of solder on the contacts to buid them up again. i did that on mine and saved myself 120.
i'm not sure if the sc multi-function switches are the same as the 97 lx ones, but it's all the same cancept.

do these cars have the big relay-style combo signal / hazard flasher like the Taurus and a few other Ford vehicles?Yes, our SC's do Ed. It's an electronic relay that uses a 555 IC for timing control. They are VERY reliable. I have a spare relay, and one day I popped the cover off just to see what made it "tick" so-to-speak (pun intended) :D

I've got a spare multifunction switch. It came out of that 89 SC wreck that I parted out. I think I recall hearing that there were two different versions of the switch. One is for cars with the auto-dimming headlights, and one for those without. The switch I've got is identical to the one in my car, with has the auto-dimming headlights.
Let me know if you want the switch.
Cheers,
Sean

Rocky, a replacement flasher would be $17 + taxes at club pricing. We would have to order it in. The number is SF-585 if you just want to get it from Bramview or Colony ... the difference from retail price is only a few bucks in this case. Or give me a call if you're coming out to the meet tomorrow night, I could bring it along for you.
thanks
