I'm in the not much crowd. Fun to lite it up occasionally, but traffic is too heavy in Dallas most of the time. Knock on wood, not a bent panel anywhere, only 2 very minor door dings. Folks just can't believe its 11 years old. When its clean, it looks almost brand new. That is except for the upholstery.

I can't help it. The car begs to go faster. I had the needle buried at 140 a couple of times and still had plenty left.

I agree with SCGuru. even my 89 base wants to go fast! (it's top speed is 135mph)

these cars just aren't made to go slow! I regularly find myself well beyond the speed limit without even knowing it. these cars just cruise so effortlessly at a speed that is higher than the legal limit. Is it our fault?!

When you run just a little higher than 1500 rpm at 55, you feel like you have to downshift into 4th so that it runs like it should. That sounds different than I mean but it runs so low rpm that you just have to go at least 60 to feel right. And you can't justify shifting to 4th, so usually I'm running about 65 or 70. I have a 5 spd.

Hate to admit it but rarely ever. I'm hyper aware of potential cost of tickets, increased insurance rates, and increased wear and tear on vehicle. Plus I no longer feel need to impress anyone. **** that!

ha well lets say if theres no traffic or cops ill push it. I dont call it speeding in this case i call it testing. Just to make sure my repairs are holding up and if something blows or fails then i know it is broken. i try to drive civily as much as i can unless i get a taste for some rice.

lol, um usually 80-100 depending on traffic. But thats moving in traffic. It depends. Morning rush on the highway, im going 90, but afternoon, i stay cautious at 70. I usually dont speed as much, im more on the lookout for rampaging corvettes nowadays.

I had my SC for only two months and I got nabbed by the bear in the air.
Less that 1/4 mile from where I got on the freeway.
My last speeding ticket was about 15 years ago!! Cripe!
I was only trying to merge in traffic and not get rammed from behind.
WARNING!! Anyone entering Toledo (Toileto) Ohio from Michigan SLOW DOWN.
They LOVE to nab you just after the line.
It goes from 70 to 65 to 60 in about 1/2 mile.
They should change the sign to...
"Welcome to Toledo, be prepared to stop!"

I go between 5 and *cough* 40 over on the highway, 5 over in town and the speed limit in residential or school zones.. so I guess I'm not too bad..

No tickets either! My personal best is a verbal warning for 75 in a 45 after cerfew.

I can keep up with traffic or set the pace. My car likes to set the pace. It's a carry over from the motorcycle world. Driving the pace is what it's refered to. The pace is much faster on nice long roads. I have out paced a few cars. Never do I act a fool in traffic.

Honestly Officer...

man thats great. I was reading this thinking, "I remember having this talk with my bird". It ended the same way. Listening to limp bizkit 'break stuff' heading home after college. Its an hour each way so you just get used to it. Goiung like 75 through a known cop point. Thinking man this a great song as i turned it up louder. Next thing I know theres a cop behind me.

Get this pulls me over for 120 in a 60, no seatbelt, noise ordance since we was behind me basically through the entire song, little did I notice. I couldnt find my proof of insurance. He tells me to be careful as I merge back onto the highway and try to keep the charger down. I didnt tell him it was supercharged. Must have had one in the past or at home and feeling humble as hes knows how hard it is not to speed in these cars.

My wife is always, slow down, do you know how fast your going. So i wanted her to learn to drive stick. Shes on the freeway and I say the same. Shes never brought it up since.
