newbie needs help

it will not spin over from the switch. it would spin over from the solenoid, but slowly. i just bought the car , he said it wouldn't start. after i released the screwdriver from the the solenoid, it still soun for a moment or two still slowly. the jumper cables i had hooked up were getting very hot also. the upshift light was not on while it was turning over. switch bad? would that cause it to turn over slowly and cables to get hot?

noticed in the fuse box under the hood, where it says eec relay,
there is nothing there, should there be?

Before you try anything else, fully charge the battery and take it in to have it tested at just about any auto parts store such as Autozone. You don't want to use jumper cables to try to start a car with a dead battery; you use them to get the battery charged enough for IT to do the job.

While you're at the car part store, buy a bulb type battery tester and check the battery fluid state.
