I would think it is people who can afford to keep this car running.

Just a question....do we assume there is no one older than 45 with a SC? I would suggest the poll will come out with a biased outcome since unless those older than 45 chose the highest category they will remain uncounted.

Now I have to decide between saving more for retirement or spending it on the SC. It's still less than a new car payment every month.

I'm 52, I have two SCs and nobody wants to count me. How old should we be or is this a discriminating poll?

28 year old hear.... I feel that it is safe to assume that If you bought your SC brand New you are older than 35. Is this true.

I was already over 35 when I bought mine brand new. At this age since time races by I might as well haul ~~~ in my SC along with it.

Nice mods Russ! Did ya get the rear heart-shaped quarter windows? The chicks dig mine. Between that and my 4 foot Nike Swoosh in my rear window and matching Swooshes across the top of my windshield, ain't no farmer's daughter safe for 100 miles around these parts!

hey David, that sucks. my wife wants more SC's! after she drove mine, she wants one for herself. she loves the way the Anniversary Edition looks. i'm only 28, so i've got plenty of time to buy more SC's. we're planning on getting an SC for every year they were made, including other TBirds. my wife also wants a purple 'Cuda convertable. if she gets that, then i'm getting a '69 Mustang Boss 427!

Steve:
My wife likes the SC's too, except she knows I would kick her 99 GTP out of the garage to make room. We added a 3rd garage two years ago just for the SC,cost about $30K ouch!
That and she insist the kids are going to college. I think college is highly over rated.
David
PS: She wants a Jag if I get the Challenger, so using her math I guess I really can't afford my dream car.

damn! $30,000 for a garage? are you serious? i've never seen any garage advertised for that much. is that garage air conditioned with italian marble throughout?
as far as college, i guess it depends on what you want to do. you can't do everything without college.
i wonder what purple 'Cuda convertables go for these days, as well as a '69 Mustang Boss 427. i'd like a Jag XJR, but that's almost $100,000. talk about ouch!

Steve:
I was kidding about college but not about the garage, they rebuilt one end of the house so it would match, raised the roof, moved walls, matching brick, new sidewalks, new landscaping and on and on. That doesn't even include the nasty dent on my SC's fender caused by someone knocking a ladder on it. To finish the inside was going to cost another $5K. I thought I would rather spend that on my SC.
Thanks, David

I'm 18. I bought my SC the summer I was 16. I have had it going on 2 years now, and I love it. Sure I have gotten more than my fair share of tickets and its amazing I am still a licensed driver. Maybe the fact my mom's a lawyer and knows all the judges and cops helps. Anyways, I've been busted for everything from speeding, to having my stereo so loud the officer heard it 4 blocks away. I am in a tight spot right now where the SC maybe be getting traded in but I have totally fallen in love with it all over again and I am going to do all within my power to keep it and hopefully still get the truck I want. If it comes down to it, the truck can wait. I bought mine from my best friend for $3500 after he just replaced the head gaskets. Then I've repaired a LOT of stuff. Its driveable but needs a few things here and there still. But if you see it on the road you'd never know it had any problems unless I pointed @#%$ out. Well the guy I bought it from kept begging me to sell it back to him. So he finally found an 89 5-speed. Mine is a 92. Its a beautiful car, black w/ black leather, moonroof, 5-speed, limo black tint. I even had another friend fall in love with my SC so he went out and got one for himself too. Well take care guys. My SC is in the garage taking her winter nap.

Hey everybody,
proud SCCoA member #1357
owned my beloved 35th ann. SC since i was 18
that is my first car and my keeper. It dosen't matter how old you are ...you're cool if u love the SC and race it and kill ricers. The rate i'm going with this car i'll never retire. bought it for $7000 and dumped another $5000 just for repairs(COULD HAVE ALL WENT TO UPGRADES) but still i love my SUPER COUPE and it will never leave my possesion. OH yeah and all you guys that are married with your wives loving and owning a SC, i think thats awesome, and if I get married my wife will love and own a SC too!!!!!! I also think it's cool that people of all ages can share information and share one love for something as great as the SC.

I am 46 and this is my mid life crisis. Isn't the grass greener on the other side. Before i bought mine i saw a 35th anniversary (immaculate) so i followed it till he got to where he was going. Out gets this guy who is 72 years old and still driving a 5 spd. I asked him if he would like to sell it, and he laughed , saying I just had it restored (new engine, supercharger, tires & paint) 12,000.00 Canadian. With that he said to me I have an automatic SC that ilike better. Give me your # and i'll think about it.
Still waiting

Save your money all summer and when your dad asks for cash tell him no. Now... I can't afford insurance on my own... thats why my dad pays half and is considered the primary driver of the car... ;)

42 ...... goin' on 21 here .........
I was just thinkin', when I was 19-25 I never thought much about anyone over 30. It's true what they say, "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
Us older guys, (I said OLDER, NOT old), are just going to have to show the pups how to play!!! You never know, We might end up having to wipe some young butt, and then when were done, wipe there noses too.
I always say, "If you're gunna run with the tall dogs, ya' gotta learn to pee in the tall weeds .... and if ya' can't run with the tall dogs, go lay by your dish!!!!
