overheating again/no fan

My 93 5 speed sc is overheating again, it seems my fan never turns on. I have been having problems for a long time now, I changed the coolant temp sensor 4 times, the ircm once, (it would seen to work for a while then sometimes not work) now the fan won't even kick on if I put the a/c on (i would usually turn it on that way if the car wouldn't turn the fan on by itself). gettin no codes yet and the fan does turn on during its test cycle with that little code reader thing.
I might just put a switch for the fan, do you think that would mess anything up?
thanks,
Virg.

get to your fan control module and cut wire #14,that will keep your fan on when you start your engine.you can connect a toggle swittch inline on wire 14. you can see the #'s on the harness without unplugging it. to test the fan you can start the engine and unplug the ect sensor while the engine is running the fan should turn on and stay on,check engine light will too. when you cut wire 14 you won't have a check engine light.
goodluck
