I have it temp. bolted to my spare s/c. hopefully it does something, if not, it add's 10 ricerHP =) does anyone think it will HURT anything? i am working on the outlet tube, to the i/c, out of 2.75" aluminum. i'll post a pic of my intake that i completed a week or so ago...

Is all you added a 1.5 inch spacer??? Please tell me you chopped part of the casting from the top on the under side and welded a piece to make the opening bigger. If not, you wasted your time.

I would do a little chamfer on the corners, but otherwise an hours work is cool. Matt, did you match the inside profile of the "top"? Hey man, add some good gasket material and seal it tight and go for it.

Yeah, ron, it's matched almost exactly to the top. I also got a spindle sander on my pneumatic die grinder, and smoothened out the inside of the top. i used a 1/16 inch thick gasket material on both sides of the spacer. if it doesn't work, then oh well, i have an excuse to need the hood clearance, with all of my ricer friends.

Didnt mean to laugh so hard, I just thought you new you needed to do a bit more than that. Check out this link (http://sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15904) It has an explanation of what was done.

Thank's Al. Tomorrow i will start on that top... quick question... is there any great amount of pressure inside the S/C top? In other words, if i dont get all my weld's sealed up right, will JB weld hold for a few little holes?

Seal it tight bro, any small leak will make a difference. Also, if you use quick weld on the inside and it comes lose, do you realy want your engine having it inside???

for my intake, after i tig welded it, i smeared JB weld over top of the welds, just to make sure it was sealed.. no holes were big enough for the JB Weld to seep through... thanks al... i guess it's time to bust out the tig again =\

Al, something like this? I didn't put the spacer on yet, because i just set the piece of pipe on the top. still need to do alot of trimming, and to cut a chunk out of my spacer.
