i really need help asap

im having several probles with my sc ,loss of power mechanic saying bs and bs and i really need someone who knows about SC's and wont try to get every penny out of my to check it,,,,if any of you guys at so cal can help my i will really aprreciate it i dont know how to work on cars but im willing to learn thanks in advance

It's kind of hard since you are soooo far. But, tell us what your mechanic said and what the symptons are and we'll try our hardest.

car: 1990 thunderbird SC 5-speed all stock except removed cats
symptoms : loss of power has nice idle and no smoke or milky oil car boosted before taking it to the mechanic but had bypass valve vacuum hose disconnected and closed with a screw but i started to feel a loss of power...

mechanic said : blower belt slipping; belt changed no changes in loss of power. vaccum hoses not connected rigth vaccum hoses connected right = no boost close bypass with strap got boost low power...... mechanic cant figure out he says it could be the crankshat pulley because early sc's had that problem and that culd be the cause of low power....


but anyways im willing to go to US i live 1 hour from chula vista ca but im willing to go far just to have the car fixed right

Check the tensioner for the blower belt. Sometimes they lose spring stiffness and they dont tighten. Check to see that the blower has oil in it, so you arent loosing power from a hot blower from lack of lubrication. How old are your spark plugs and wires??? Check for vac leaks. Some more info would be good, like how its maintained, when exactly do you lose power, etc. Plus, hablo español por si quieres explicarme mejor...soy de Mexico asi es que puedes hechar mentadas de madre y nos entendemos mejor:)

jajjaja el hijo de su reputisima madre no sabe ni que pedo el pendejo pinche mecanico de mierda .........jajjaa ya me desquite

descripcion desde el principio
el carro le valia madres al dueño anterior asi q estaba mantenido para la madre lo agarre le cambie bujias y todos los filtros mas no los cables de las bujias y el carro no boosteaba le cerre la valvula del bypas y boosteo jalaba bien pero no tanto como un sc q habia probado antes de agarrar el mio.... pero segui usandolo asi un dia desconecte la manguera de vacio del la valvula de bypass le puse un tornillo a la valvula y el carro daba boost y todo bien.... hace como una semana lo senti medio lento y lo fondeaba y respondia bien pero no como antes....le puse aceite al blower y todo pero el carro se segui sintiendo cada vez peor lo lleve al taller y paso lo q mencione antes,,,,,, el mecanico dice q podia del la polea del cigueñal lo q podria causar la perdida de potencia pero no se..ya ni se q onda con el carro...

..por eso si me pueden hacer el favor de checarlo ustedes se los agradeceria si me aviento el viaje no tengo mucha feria pero trataria de juntar loq fuera necesario para q el carro quede bien

Primero dile a tu mecanico que es pendejo. Cuando fallan las poleas del cigueñal, los SCs no encienden porque tienen el "crank sensor" alli. Si al dueño anterior le valia madre, puede ser que el carro ya este muy correteado. ¿Cuantas millas/km tiene? Se sacude mucho el motor? Si el carro todavia esta en el taller, dile al mecanico que le rebise la compresion. Si la compresion esta bien (150-160) puede ser que las mangueras del soplador no esten conectadas bien. Despues de eso, fijate bien que todas las collonturas de las pipas del intercooler esten bien selladas, si esas tienen una fuga, eso puede hacer que no boosties bien y el carro corre como mierda. Estan sensillos estos carros, que no te saque de onda. Se mira como que es mucho desmadre, pero en verdad estan sensillos. Mientras ensienda, esta bien y es cual quier chingadera que tenga mal.

Description from the begining

The previos owner didnt give a rats *** about the car, so it wasnt maintained too well. I changed the plugs and filters but not the plug wires and the car didnt go into boost. I closed the bypass valve and it got boost but it didnt haul *** like a regular SC that i had driven before i got mine. I kept using it that wasy. One day i disconnected the boost bypass hose and I plugged it with a screw and the car boosted well and everyting was fine. About a week ago, I felt it kind of slow, it ran well and responed, just not like it was before...i put oil in the blower and everythtng but the car felt worse and worse. I took it to a mechanic and what i mentioned earlier happened. The mechanic said it might be the pulley on the crankcoul dbe what was causing thisand now I dont even know whats up with the car.


so if you guys can do me the favor of looking at the car for me id appreciate it. If I made the trip, I dont have too much money, but I can gather up enough to make the car run

Is there a difference in the boost pressure now that the car runs poorly?

If not, I would certainly suspect poor gas or a fuel supply problem. Change fuel filters and have injetors/throttle body serviced (cleaned).
