K&N cone filter

What has to be replaced to swap over to a K&N cone from our panel air filters. Can I just buy the cone and attach it after removing the box? Thanks for any help.

You can but then you are sucking in just a ton of hot air from the engine bay.

All of the cold air induction kits out there stick the filter into the fender below the engine bay under where the air box sits. This keeps the filter from sucking in hot engine compartment air.

Magnum Powers has a new cold air divider that lets you keep the air filter in the engine bay but creates a sealed box when the hood is closed to keep the engine bay hot air from being sucked into the engine.

You could, but you would be better off buying the K&N panel filter, so your not sucking up hot air from the engine compartment.
