Are we still onboard for this meet next month?
Al is the focal point and will do his usual good job in getting a cruise there and back.
I am wondering if we are still on track? I know the O.G.'s are still game and I trust the rest are making their plans.
The Northern Chapter is a tight group. They have some wicked rides and they are way fast. I know we will make a better representation of ourselves on the drag strip, but as for beating them, well, that is to be seen.
They have some beautiful cars and we need to make sure ours are totally spit-shined.

what's the schedule going to be?
The meet's on the 22nd, so do we leave Friday & come back Sunday? How soon do we have to make reservations & where?
Not trying to be pushy, just haven't done this before. :)

What I need from everyone is a day that he/she/they will be leaving. If we have some people leaving on friday and some others leaving on saturday, I have to know. The cruise will more than likely be the same as last time we went out there. The LA people can meet somewhere here in LA, then drive to Magic Mtn and meet the rest of the crew, then haul *** to McFarland/Bakersfield. It all deopends on everyone and what they want to do. Some like to be there day before, but others need to go and come back the same day; I am the latter.

Thats right Anthony, a good inside and outside detail of your and that should get you 14.9 :D you'd be amazed how much the dust will slow our cars down..

If you're planning on running, what time in the AM would you have to leave to make it into the field - 2:00? I think I'd prefer to go up Fri night and be rested in the morning. But you know us old folk need our sleep. :D

The last time we went up to Bakersfield rivlee, i think we left LA about 7 am.. so that wasn't that bad.. and we were at the track around 10.. i think......

If you got there at 10:00 you didn't get to run.

All I can clearly remember is that I left hemet ~4:15 made a really really really wrong turn near the 210 (I think) and was still first to Magic mtn. by 30 min. We cruised (gingerly I might add;) ) from there and had no problems getting through tech and racing all day...That was even during the summit racing series I believe. It was much different than Fontana---I hope it is this year as well.
Anthony
btw Al, I'll be heading up that morning as well...I am all for a gathering around food after racing if anyone else is.

I guess I was really trying to convince someone else to cruise up there for an over-nighter.
My last (I hope) chemo is that Thurs and it takes a couple of days to get halfway back to normal with rest. :( Plus, with my "attachment", I've learned not to eat "out". Can get really sh***. So, a long all day'er without fuel while fighting the poison's NOT a good idea. I'd like to get home with me & the SC in one piece! ;)
Made res @ Ramada for Fri nite.

A gather of food after the races sounds good to me Anthony.. Count me in, Anyone else ???

The over nighters will have to plan on their own, since organizing a cruise for them is kinda shady. I'll organize for the Saturday morning commuters. We'll be following suit with last years cruise.

Well, I think that I'll be attending. Not sure if me and the wife are doing the overnight thing or early AM cruise but I should be there for sure. I want to see Kelly's FMIC as well as meet everyone. I'll bring a cooler full of soda if anyone wants.

.......
When we talked about a over niter, we where talking about Sat nite. If you cruze up Friday or Sat. did not matter ,exsept to the groupe themselfs.
Al and I talked about this and this is what I was thinking.
If you drive up in the morning and then run and then drive back in the after noon, it makes for a hard day on the car and the body.
Now if you where to stay Sat nite and have dinner with everone, you would get a chance to meet and talk to folks with out all the track BS. NOW if some of you have not met Kurt Sunday your going to miss one hell of a party after the days events! The guy is just plan crazy in a good way.:D Yes, I'm saying he has a way of be coming the life of the party. Pictures do not do this guy justice. You have to be there!
The last Bakersfield meet was a good one. the only thing that I did not like, was that I did not get to spend more time with new friends and talk a little more. I was hoping that a dinner thing and a get togetyer after word would spell more good times.

Hey, water pipes and other tobbacco accesories are perfectly legal in the state of california. Besides, if Mark sees it, we'll say its a pencil holder or a flower vase like they have on the new beetles :D

Good news with Al. He is back in the saddle again.
Leave your bongs at home. I am bringing my kids with me, as always, and would be sorely dissappointed if anyone disrespected that issue. Just trying to be up-front so no one gets their feelings hurt. So I am not getting my choneez in a bunch and I am not honked off......just keeping it real.
