they also have a 4 ohm

6.5" midbass driver

I replaced mine with a 4ohm 6.5" midbass driver from mtx. It sounded better than stock, but I am still using the factory amp to run it. I should get louder and deeper bass if I change the amp, but I didn't want to do any additional wiring at the time. Also, If you are willing to make the speaker whole bigger, some people have put 8" woofers instead of a 6.5. Hope this helps.

Question about woofer opening

My 89 SC didn't have the stock woofer, but it has the opening in the sheet metal from inside the trunk. I want to make it a functional opening into the passenger compartment for a woofer enclosure in the trunk.

Did Ford use a grill of some sort on the interior of the car, did they perforate the rear deck and cover the holes with cloth, or did they do both?

Any opinons or comments about this project?

Thanks,

TS
