I have a 1990 thunderbird SC , I need to replace the ABS master cylinder. Ford says this is obsolete, They dont even offer a rebuild kit for it. Does anyone Know of a source for these?, ALSO has anyone changed their ABS over to a Regular brake set up , would It interfear with the main computer. where could I find a wiring schematic for the ABS system ? thanks

If you need a new ABS system (hydraulic pump, accumulator, actuator, etc) the best place to go is Prior Remanufacturing. The '89 thru '92 SC's have the Teves Mark II ABS. Prior sells rebuilt units for about $500.00 (US) which is way better than the $1200.00 that Ford charges (if they have them), and Prior gives a 36-month warranty. The replacement is a do-it-yourself type job if you want to save some bucks (took me about 1.5 hrs by myself in the driveway).

First thing to do is determine if you need a new unit, or if you only to replace the relays or accumulator.

What are the symptoms?
