Installing gears...

I bought 3.27s to replace the 2.73s in my 1991 SC. I wanted to know if anyone has installed them before, and if they are complicated to install. I have installed gears in older cars before(1966 Mustang and a 1966 Corvette.) Anyone know?

i just did mine in my 92 5 speed. 3.27's. I got ford motorsport. I guess the FMS are the best because they dont make any noise. Even when they are set up right...i guess Richmond still make noise. You need some special tools. You need to get the pinion depth....backlash and run out. Then you need to check the pattern. You'll need to keep getting the pinion bearing pressed off until you get the right depth. I have all this at my house so it was easy for me. If you want...i might be able to do yours for say about...$100. I would recomend getting new seals all the way around and get an instalatino kit with a pinion seal...shims...carrier shims...gasket and pinion nut.
