Autometer A/F ratio problem.

My autometer A/F ratio gauge seems to, well, suck. It sits at LEAN, even under heavy accelleration. Would this be a bad O2 sensor? or just a ****** gauge? is there any way to check the o2 sensor? also... as a word of advice, don't start the car with both sensors out, the neighbors get mad =)

Sometimes they take some time to start reading correctly. Are you sure it's connected to the correct sending wire?
