Is this the right Auburn posi for my TBird??

I have a 1991 LX with a 7.5" open rear differential. I bought a posi that I plan to install, but I want to be sure that it is the right unit. It's an Auburn (21483) 7.5" posi. It was originally bought for a Ford Ranger. The Auburn directory says that this is the same unit that is used in all of the 7.5" rear-ends (straight and IRS axles).

I've heard from SC owners that IRS rear-ends need special differentials that accept the IRS half-shafts. Some have even said that they have bought Auburn units that were listed for there SC only to find they needed to have special lips machined into the side gears in order for them to work.

My questions are:
1. Can I use this unit without any problems?, and
2. When setting up the rear-end with the new differential, if I keep the stock gears, do I have to change the pinion depth?

Any help is greatly appriciated!!
