Diving in with Both Feet...

Sooo.... my engine is a mess. I'm thinking about taking it out and rebuilding myself. I have the 1994 Ford Thunderbird/Cougar Shop Manual (the big book). I expect that if I get into serious trouble I should be able to hunt down someone local to dig me out... and worse case scenario, if totally muck it up ... well, there are short blocks around ;-)

Given enough time, is an SC rebuild possible as a first engine rebuild?

Pointers? Anyone? Anyone? ;-)

It can be done

I just completed a bottom up rebuild on my 89. It was the first time that I tore into the SC. I have rebuilt about 10 motors in the past, but they were of the small block Ford and Chevy variety (289, 327,350,etc). It is a different engine, but doable. I thought the Chiltons on this car was poor at best. It leaves alot to be desired, but short of a Factory manual or one from Helm, this is all you got. If you need any pointers or help along the way, I would be willing to do what I can.
