Try an EZout. With a bigger one, you might get lucky and it'll bite without you having to drill a hole. Another option is if you can get a dremel to it, slot it and the chisel it out with a hammer and screwdriver. If you can't get a dremel to it, take a hammer and sharp screwdriver and chisel a notch in it and then try to work it out with a hammer and flat tip screwdriver.

I had the same problem with mine. I tried the sears ez-out, it had no chance of removing it so I was planning on tacking the allen wrench to it. By accident I picked up a metric one and it fit. It was tight, but I twisted it out with it while taping on the top of it with a hammer. Don't know if you will be that lucky but give it is worth a shot.
