Supercharger rebuild?

How hard is it to rebuild a supercharger, mine has been making rock crumbling noise since I have owned it and I know it is only a matter of time until something bad happens. How much cheaper would it be for the parts than sending it in somewhere for a rebuild, I think super coupe performance is around $300? Thanks.

That's what it does, but how long can this last? It's been like this for over 10,000 miles.

forever almost, as long as theres fluid in it. Its the plastic coupler between from the "pinned" drive of the shaft to the "pinned" gear, it couples them, if the holes elongate there is some backlash and it "rattles", kind of like a rock tumbler at idle, especially more noticeable with a "wild" cam or rough idle.

Only time I saw a coupler fail was when the rotors seized from no oil.

Well, that's good news. It's hard to believe that something that loud isn't that bad, but that's good because I'm driving almost 1,000 miles a week right now. What causes this to happen, lack of oil?
