Paul from BlueTongue is selling Aluminum Roller Rockers for $170 +shipping for purchases of 6 or more sets. Are there 5 other people who are interested in getting these Roller Rockers with me so that we can get the $170 +shipping price?
Thanks,
Paul

what size stud (or bolt hole) are they? are they pedestal mount? thanks.
Guys,
Try hitting 3.8 Mustang, All Ford Mustang's (I am a Moderator there) V6 Power and TCCOA. There have been people asking about them at all these sites and you may get more interest.
BT Motorsports

They are pedestal mount and will include the proper mounting hardware as mentioned on the site.
Paul
P.S. Though plev72 mentioned a group purchase, up till the time of this writing, no one has approached me to organize one or undertaken the task themselves to my knowledge. If someone would like to undertake the task, please contact me so we can work out the details.

Alright, so I spoke to Mike tonight on the phone regarding the group buy and he is going to start organizing this. With that said, between him, plev72 and ponyeeter, thats 3 people already. So with that said, 3 more to go before making the 2nd tier discount. Mike is going to be coordinating the buy with some guidance from me and details will be posted on the site in 2 or 3 days.

No worries, I suppose I should have done a better job of following up, but I saw the info at www.bluetonguemotorsports.com and figured might as well save a couple of bucks. I think we had 5 in at last count, a couple of us have already paid. Not sure off hand what Paul put for a final deadline on this, so if anyone else wants to get in, you should probably do it reasonably quickly, just send an email to Paul at BlueTongueMotorsports.Com and he'll hook you up. He's a great guy to work with.
Paul
Guys, If you want more people in, hit more sites. One of the guys at TCCOA has posted the info but you could try 3.8 Mustang and V6 Power. These are two huge V6 engine sites with a lot of members that are looking for cheap deals on roller rockers.

Can I ask this? Will it be strictly the 1.73 non adjustables or can we get adjustables? I've heard that the adjustables are easier to work with, just curious.

Guys, there seems to be a little confusion about the group purchase. Let me reiterate what is already stated on the web page. The buy is being offered from April 2nd-April 14th. At the present moment 7 people have expressed interest in the buy or stated they definitely want a set of roller rockers and their names are listed on the group buy page. Those who have paid are noted as being paid. I will continue to update the page daily as payments are received so everyone can see the progress. Please understand that holding out till the last minute only hurts the group as some people are waiting to complete their engines while waiting for the buy to close. As soon as the first 6 people have made payment, I will begin processing orders and will continue to process additional orders which may be received afterwards until the closing date.

Are these rockers machined to work on the 3.8 or are they generic fit for fords that need to be ground down and shimmed in order to work properly?
Thanks,
Zach

i believe they will fit on all 3.8 ford heads. the proper mounting hardware is included with the rockers.
BT Motorsports
04-11-2003, 06:54 AM
Zach, they are a direct bolt on unless you have changed your cam in which case you will need proper length pushrods or the pedestals will need to be ground.
Presently, 7 people have paid for the rockers and 2 are pending a money order. Remember guys, Monday is the cutoff for this buy so your payment needs to be made by then or in the mail with a confirmation # sent to us by then.

Paul,
I had heard that shims weren't required as long as the heads weren't milled, is this true?
Joe

If for example, the heads were never off the car, then the rockers should just bolt right on and be within tolorance. I say should because that statement is relative to your motor's condition, internal wear etc. If you have a high mileage motor, your cam and/or pushrods may have worn over the course of time which could affect the valve lash. I just bought this morning an 89 SC with over 225000 miles on the original motor. I am certain if I open it up right now, I will find a considerable amount of variance from the factory tolerances. Bottom line here is the installer, whomever it may end up being, would be wise to take this as an opportunity to inspect their engine while partially open and check the lash to ensure all is well before closing it back up.

Paul,
Thanks for the reply. Mine only has 51K on it now but I'm planning on doing a cam and SPI swap sometime in the near future. The heads haven't been shaved or so I'm told! I don't want to tie up this thread with my story, any other questiond I'll just send them to you. :)

Actually, I much prefer any issues or questions regarding the rockers be posted here as Im certain everyone involved in the buy can benefit from them. Perhaps a brief FAQ is in order for this product. With that said, I suggest everyone involved in the purchase read this thread http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21715. I haven't had the opportunity to confirm or deny the information contained within it at this time.
FAQ Volunteers?

OK, I checked all of them and 3 of them are OK, 9 are not . I checked all of the bolts and they all fit in the three and not the nine. All the pedestals are OK.

Ok, Tony and all involved in the purchase, I just randomly checked a set of the rockers sitting on the shelf. After seeing what you are experiencing, I can safely say that it is a matter of only a few thousandths and you can just thread the fastener into the trunion.....when it gets to the unthreaded portion of the fastener, the fastener will slide right in. This is simply due to manufacturing tolerances since they are done on a production line. I will be installing the set I checked on the shelf (which BTW, none of the fasteners will just slide into) on my brothers 90 tomorrow if that makes you feel any better.

If you guys want a group buy, send a PM to Paul at BlueTongue, he is a good guy and will be happy to work with you. I think you'll probably need 6 people to get the group buy pricing, but as you already have 3 apparently, it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think he is very keen on credit cards though. You'll have to talk to him...;
