I have an 89 5-speed SC. The really irritating thing my trans does besides being hard to shift sometimes is this really bad rattling noise that sounds like either the front input shaft bearing or the throw-out bearing. It any gear, especially 1-3rd, when I first take off at very low rpms, there is what can best be described by be as a "rattlling/buzz" noise if like the clutch is engaged below 1100-1200 rpm, and it continues till about 1400 rpm or so. It sounds like a little 4 cylinder transmission to me, very aggrivating.

Anyway, any idea what this may be?

Thanks

Phil

Are you sure it's from the tranny? My heat shields on my cats do that exact same thing and my SC is an auto.
