I vote for St. Louis Or Chicago. Although I will go pretty much anywhere within 10 or so hours. Oklahoma wasn't that bad... other than the roads.

you guys chose a southern california city. it would stimulate the southwest chapter that right now seems only active in new mexico...you would have access to performance shops like on every corner (no bs they are everywhere now) uncountable dynos a nice cruise on pacific coast higway on video would be the @#%$ (the road that the white guy raced the ferrari on the fast and the fuirious) a lot of different tracks, cheap bording, you can make a car show and promote it cheaply and effectively, invite some of the ricers and mudstain boys so they can see what a "thunderchicken" can do.

and ofcourse a lot of bars, beaches, and babes

just my $0.02

Kansas City is perfect if there is someone there that will run it as good as the OKC boys did in Norman.

I'm going to vote for Memphis, TN. A couple of us here have talked about it and we liked Memphis the best.

Vegas, or Denver where everyone else can see why SCs run soo much slower at a mile high. But really you name it & I'll be there as long as its not too far east.

The only guys that come out from SoCal are Kris Campos, John Shelton, Vikki, and Demmit. We have had 2 meets in Vegas (very close to you guys) and no one else from Cali came out. There has also been a meet in Colorado and soon one in Pheonix. Maybe you can make the next one.

what's up eric?? i still think that vegas is the best. there is always stuff to do there, and the other meets that we had were awesome. i just love vegas, i think i might move there when i grow up. and it's really cool when we all get to park in a parking garage on our own level. but, i'm still pissed that i couldn't make the nat'l meet, and my car still runs like crap cause i got dis'd.

If set for summer months, I suggest Denver. Good facilities and a strong local group to help with arrangements. If set outside heavy heat\humidity months, St.Louis would be a good choice for th same reasons. Richard Hughes

I haven't voted yet because I wanted to see what everybody else was thinking. I'm glad ST. Louis is high on the list, but as said before this is where the WFC is held and probably be held for time to come so it might not be the best choice (yet). Memphis wouldn't be bad if they have the facilities, so more south-eastern people could attend. Also like the idea of Chicago, we could probably get a few of our Canadian brethern to attend then.

We might want to consider a possible schedule for the next few years like Midwest, then South East, then West, etc. And then narrow it down later.

Since Carlise is essentially a "National" event, we should probably stay away from that area until this gets a little bigger and can draw people from further away (although Kurt Sunday did drive from New Mexico one year).

Just some thoughts,

Kurt Sunday

Let's try Hawaii !!!

Picking a place is going to be tough and most likely will not please everybody. St. Louis sounds like fun but it sure is pretty far from places like Las Vegas and Houston.

I suggest we look at other car clubs and find out where they stage national meets.

I would like to see Detroit as a possible location for the SCCoA National Meet in future years but I generally like the idea of St. Louis, MO. I suggest that the meet take place sometime in the summer like in July. Most people have this time avalible to vacation and most students don't attend classes. This also will not conflict the WFC which is conducted in late May and Carlisle is the first weekend of June. Another choice I have is Chicago. But don't count out Detroit as a future site. There is plenty to do up to and including plant tours, cruises on legendary roads such as Woodward and Telegraph, Ford World Headquarters (The Glass House), Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, and sooo much more for the automobile enthusiast. They don't call us the Motor City for nuthin.

Right in mid states. You want to rise attendance put it to where everyone can get to it with in reason. If you go far east or west you take a lot of members out.

does it have to be a major city? i mean we werent really in oklahoma city last time, so my vote goes for terre haute indiana, about an hr west of indy, its a college type town that has all the bars, and stuff we'd need, including a drag strip.. or theres merrillville indiana further north up by chicago thats close to chicago without the expensive hotels and TAX and theres us 41 drag strip about 10 mins from there.

you were in OKC metro area, also I vote for Kansas City, centrally located, I'd like to see a huge turnout, if Kansas only had a big city somewhere we could do it right in the center of Kansas.

I vote Chicago.. Chicago has da Cubs, an incredible symphony, a lake we can hang out at, and for all us gamers, the FASA BattleTech/Mechwarrior simulators.

I live in Memphis and one word, HOT. Like 98 w/ 80%+ humidity in late August.
I have family in St. Louis but, in my opinion, it's incredibly boring (I love Saullo's pizza tho).
But to each his own...

Paul

PS: Nashville smells like gym sock thats been left to mildew for a few years.. :)

Since Indy was voted on:
Why aren't we exploring a city nearby? (!)
(Thereby sticking to the principle of the vote,
in consensus management, etc. !)

Nevertheless, I'll go wherever you finalize it to...

Lastly, consider a "tour" effect on the Nationals:
Doing a looping-type drive to some worthwhile
destination, different annually. And, yeah,
regionally different each year to appease
the plurality principle in democratic voting,
wherein we'll never satisfy the majority (!)

That stated, consider Canada in one of the
years, because the American dollar gets 2X
(yes, that's right: TWO times your value !)
at any and all Cdn. locations. Like Banff by
Calgary. Banff is rated as one of the top 20
scenic wonders of the world. Or even
Vancouver, BC, now classed as the
"entertainment capital" of the world, as per
Menz magazine..... But back to Calgary:
it's the "Texas" of Canada. So, you can't go
wrong! With even Dinosaur digs close by
if kiddies are joining in.....
(We're all kiddies, at heart!)

Well, done enough damage for now,
so let me sign off before I get dinged (!)....
Peace ! -virgil

St. Louis, Mo sounds great. Just because I'm in north iowa, but it would also be great to get a pic of some cars by the arch.

What about Milwaukee? It's still close to Chicago, has slightly cooler temperatures, and I think they make beer somewhere around there. Plus our friends from the north could join us -eh! My other choices would be Indy, (plenty to do @ Indianapolis Raceway Park!) or what about Nashville, TN?

I live in Cali and this will be my first year going to the "meet." I realize it is going to be a long drive for me especially since I will be driving by myself, but can't we have it one year near the west side of the States. I know there are plenty of people not going because they don't want to make the long drive.

The 2003 MN-12 Nationals will be held more towards the West coast. The location is not decided, but look for it to be close to nevada or utah.
