I am trying to replace the radio in my wifes base model 89.I whent and got a wire harness plug in the kit says it fits 88 to 95 birds but only the power side fits . the speaker side plug is not even close. help

The wiring harness most likely varies depending on audio configuration options. Therefore you will have to determine which audio system came with the car. I believe there are three options... they include 1. base - 4 interior speakers, & basic cassette reciever with rotary controls. 2. jBl - 4 interior JBL premium sound speakers, rear deck amplifier, upgraded cassette reciever with lever volume ctrl & hideaway tone adjs. 3. jBl premium - CD reciever with 4 JBL interior speakers, 1 6.5" sub, & 2 rear deck amplifiers. In addition, a 10 disc cd changer was optional with the two higher systems. probably standard on the highest actually.

Others will add more to help, some are more familiar with using the factory audio wiring than I.
