Front bearing cover gasket?

Should the front bearing cover of the m5r2 have a gasket or just permatex? The guy who "resealed" mine used a ton of permatex, let it dry, and then tried to assemble it. Needless to say it leaked like a stuck pig. Now it is back out and I want to seal it correctly this time.

I don't have the shop manual in front of me, but the parts catalogue doesn't show any gasket in there ... should just be sealer ...

Thanks Fast Ed N. I will clean it real good and reseal it. No need to use half a tube like the last guy :)

Also, I have a post regarding what I now believe is the speedo sensor on the side of the tranny http://forums.sccoa.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21549
and someone thought you might be able to help with a P/N and where to get one. Any help would be great.

Thanks again Fast Ed N
