Tried to change the fuel filter on my 95 the other day took off the cover and the aft(rear) line is the plastic one with the clip but the one coming from the front of the filter is a steel braid type with a metal clip which i removed but for the life of me coulndt get off of the filter. Any one know the secret please share.

I'm not sure if the setup is the same on the sc as it is the LX, but on my LX here's what I did.

You need a ford a/c fuel disconnect tool. They are ten bucks at any auto store. Clip the tool on the fuel line, and pop the filter out. You might want to spray a little lube on it first, to make it easy.

Then the new fuel filter snaps into the fuel hardline. Make sure you get it facing the right direction, it only goes one way.

Yes, you need the Ford fuel line disconnect tool. About $10 from any parts store.
