engine out - any ideas for performance?

Hey, im new to this forum and would just like to ask some of the experts here about what I can do for a preformance rebuild

I blew the head gaskets on my 1990 SC 5 speed, about 140,000 miles on it, i pulled the motor already and have to send it out to get rebuilt in the next week because I dont have the know how or the tools to do such a project

A little about my car - it has a flowmaster exhaust, gutted cats, cold air intake, 5% overdrive of the supercharger, underdrive pulleys, and a dual friction centerforce clutch with a b&m ripper

I was just wondering what everyone would recommend for a performance rebuild, most likely i will still use the 30# injectors (unless thats not a good idea) and the original electronics since I dont have a tuner at my disposal

Would the following be good for the rebuild:
Ported/polished Heads with a full valve job and 1.73 roller rockers
Fel-pro gaskets
Some type of cam (i dont know whether the coy miller, dr. fred, steigmeier, comp regrind - which one is the best in your opinion)
Maybe ported manifolds

Also, what Magnum Powers components will give the best bang for the buck after this is all done?

I too am rebuilding a 1990 SC 5 speed engine.

All the mods you suggested would be fine. But to get the bennefit from ported heads and high performance cam you will need larger injectors. Do the research. Think of a question and do a search. Most have been answered. When you get stumped or can't find current information. ask your question in a new thread.

The guys on this site are amazing. They share hard earned knowledge freely and you can't ask for a friendlier group.

Seems like all the suppliers of custom parts have satisfied users.
So it is up to you to decide.

Far as what Magnum powers parts to bolt on. All of em....

Personally if I could not do any of the work and had the cash I would ship my engine to one of the top engine builders for a little touch up.

Heres a few links that could help.

Check out the parts for sale to get a idea of some the mods that members are offering at reasonable prices. Like shotpeened rods with ARP bolts. H beam rods with custom pistons.. Double intercoolers, raised tops, header mods.... and on and on.

if you have the money o-ring the block and heads. add a windage tray and crank scraper. headers would be nice. upgraded intercooler. newer style blower, that is ported. larger maf and tb. late model pistons and rods, or have yours fixed for floating pins. roller rockers, the list goes on and on. it will all depend on your budget. i think that the most bang for the buck will be in head and exhaust work. i would o-ring the block and heads.

here's agood cheap one I missed. Go to a local snad blasting place and have your manifolds blasted, in and out. Should only be like $20 and will add some good cheap ponies. You could even buy some ceramic coating and coat it.

thanks for all the ideas so far guys, the first post told me that you are all really helpful and that is very true

guess a different kind of person owns an SC
