Dinging Still Driving Me Mad!!!

My dinger goes off constsantly with the key off and door open.

I thoight it had to do with m malfunctioning auto-seatbelt, but I fixed it yesterday, and it works perfectly.

I read something the last time I asked about this that said it was possibly a bad ground in the door. I looked it all over, and everything seems connected up OK.

The only other clue I may have is that the illuminated keyhole only works on the passenger side. Could this be a problem?

Any ideas?

This is driving me nuts!!!

The Warning Chime is supposed to sound with the door open and the key in the ignition. It is supposed to stay on until either condition changes. You did not state if you removed the key or not. If you did not then it is working correctly. If you did remove the key I would suspect the key warning switch which is part of the Ignition Switch itself.

Note: Info based on 89 SC info since you never stated what year SC you had.

Sorry, I was going looney from the dinging!

It's a 90, and that was with the key off.OUT

I just changed the ignition switch out, but it was doing this before.

I was really looking forward to it stopping when I fixed the auto-seatbelt...

Again...the chime is supposed to sound as long as the key is in the ignition (even if in the off position) and the door is open.

Now when you say "off" does that mean the key is removed?
