Hey guys... I was day dreaming the other day while driving my slush-box '94. While I was dreaming, the thought came to me of how awesome a six speed transmission would be in these cars. I imagined running down the highway at 1400 rpm while doing 70 mph. Wouldn't that be sweet?

So I figured I'd ask your opinion on this stuff. What do you
SC-ers think of slapping some kinda six speed monster between the motor and the drive shaft? Is it possible? Probable? Would it be expensive or require extensive modification? Imagine the top speed then, even on a stock car! ...or would it be IMPOSSIBLE!?!?!?!? :( bummer if this is so...

McLeod is about to release a line of modular bellhousings. You will be able to bolt a GM, LS1 model T56, up to your 3.8 easily. The shifter on the GM tranny is only about 2" forward compared to the 6" or so of the Ford aftermarket version.

It's been possible using a Powerglide to Ford adapter plate but no one else, I know of, has even attempted it. I've been working that route for over a year. Collecting parts while unemployed, and or, holding down temp jobs, takes time. I hope to have it in by the end of May. It's not cheap, it will run around 3K when done. But the thought of getting that worthless piece of **** MrcRap2 out of there makes it all worth it.

T56 and motor plate.
