Fuel tank upgrade question

Are all Thunderbird fuel tank created equally?

I am planning an exhaust upgrade on my '91 and will replace my fuel tank as my first step.

There are several yards around here with 3.8 and 4.6 LX's but no SC's. Is there any reason that I can't use a '92 and later tank from an LX?

Also, was the tank pretty much the same from '92 to '97?

Doesn't have to be from an SC, anything 92 - 97 will work as you've guessed.

Be sure and get the passenger side strap from the donor car. They are different from the early style. You'll also want to use your pump and sending unit. I recommend a new gasket (from Ford) for the sending unit.

Some have reported problems with warped and loose baffles from the 92 year tanks. I would try to get a newer, one if possible.
