i'm still kinda new with the sc...even though i've owned one for over a year(was only able to drive it for 3 months, then hg blew and then tranny went) where is the air silencer?? what does it do? i've seen people removin them to get a little extra hp..... and how much does it give you(hp)??? and does removing the cats give you any hp?? thanx for the info...

Hello,
If you live in a state where they do not require you to have cats then you can get rid of them but be ready for a louder exhaust.
You can also go with some high flow cats which will enable you to use the cats and still get optimum flow with less noise.
I live in Cali and have not had cats for the past 3 years, and have not had a problem passing smog. If you can get away with not having them I would go that route.
