Motorcraft 34pp plug gap?

I did a search and found 500 different suggested gap settings.
Right now I have them gapped at .045, and was wondering once and for all if this is good?
My motor is still mostly factory and I have 8.5 Taylor wires for it.

Thanks in advance.

The stock spec is .050-.054. On mildy modded cars I have seen many run smaller gaps. The goal is to have the widest gap possible to provide the largest spark. If you have detonation problems you can try a narrower gap and that may solve your problem.

You should not have any problems running .045 gap. I run .050 on both my 90 and 95 SC. The 95 will ping every once in a while but I am running 17 lbs. of boost and seems to be more of a by product of if I get good gas or not. As the plugs wear the gap actually gets wider so don't worry.
