Does anyone know what the torques spec for the intake manifold are?

Chilton and Haynes manual give 2 different sets of numbers

Chilton shows 80-90 (don't think it is right)
Haynes show 8-11 (not sure)

thanks for any help

It's the low set. But I always do another step at 18-20 ft. lbs. and have had no problems. Make sure to coat the bolts with sealer as most are open at the end into the crankcase. I've heard from another SC of a leaking gasket when only going 11 ft. lbs. They replaced the gaskets and went higher and it was good.

Vernon is correct on the intake manifold torgue settings. Apparently this 11ft/lb thing is a mistake carried over from the book of God(Helm's Manual) and the mistake has been perpetuated into Haynes and elsewhere. If you look at the torque specs for an NA 3.8 they are in the 20-something range. so how could ours be only 11?

We have done all our engines up here to about 22-24ft/lbs and they work great. We also did some at 11 before we knew better and thank God those have not leaked yet.
