I met up with Kurt K last night in Orlando (he was there on business for the week) and we cruised down to I-Drive to have a look-see for possible places to have a gathering of SC's. We stumbled on a parking lot in the rear of a block of businesses, Eckerd Drugs being the exact business address we wrote down. This lot is very big, and there were very few cars parked in it, since the attatched buildings/ businesses also have some parking in front of the stores.

It seems like we'd be unobtrusive there, no one to bother us and vice-versa. Theres a back part of the lot that butts up to a vacant field where there's plenty of room for even 15 +cars to spread out and park. Whether we'd draw any attention there is unknown, but it's the most remote place we could find. Some of you may be familiar with I-Drive and know it's a damn busy area, so it's tough to find places like that.

If anyone has other ideas, speak up. This could be something to fall back onto at least if we can't come up with a better meeting place.

It's about 10 minutes to Race Rock from there, although traffic on a Saturday might take a bit longer. If everyone thinks a longer SC caravan trip to Race Rock would be better, just say so, and we can do some more research and try to find another spot farther away. Waterford Lakes as Bryan mentioned is a good possibility, not sure how far that is exactly though.

As of now at least it's a possibility. I'll post the exact address and direction/details if we determine we want to use it. DAN H

Hey Dan, Waterford is way out on the eastern most part of the city by Bryan and me and a couple of others. It's out by UCF and that area. Long drive back to Race Rock for most... You guys are right that it would be easier for you guys from out of town to come down to some place around I-Drive.... I'm game for the back parking lot... Did their seem to be an exclusive shop in that center that we might ask permission to park... Because of the street racing the Orlando police and the Orange county Sherrif's office have been hassling a few groups of parked cars.... Might be better to at least let them know we aren't setting up to drag down their back parking lots or anything...

Anyway I'm game for where ever you guys want to meet... Makes no difference to me, it's just GAS and time, I'm just looking forward to the get together!!...

Ok :) so someone is doing some homework here. Dan please post the address so I can do a Map Quest to get an idea where on I-drive this place is. The only concern I have with I-drive is the tourist factor. Mid June on I-drive in Orlando(#1 tourist destination in the US) may not be much fun. The advantage Waterford Lakes would have is no tourists, close to restaurants (many located in the plaza), and close to Orlando Speed World. We need some more input from others here.

First: I just want to thank Dan for making the trip down to Orlando to visit me while I'm here on business. I really enjoyed talking cars, women, houses, TV's and travel. Anyway, thanks again Dan.

Second: Down to business. It doesn't really matter to me what we do, as I will be here on the start of a 1 week vacation and would just like to meet up with some SC owners. We did a similar meet like this several years ago and it was a lot of fun. And yes, we met at the now defunct Malibu GP, but I don't remember actually leaving the side of our cars to go and ride the carts or play games. My point being, that in my past experience, usually we only need a place to park to have fun.

If you guys wish to plan a meet around days at the track, that's fine. I don't expect everyone to cater to my plans. I will be available to meet people on June 14th anywhere in central Florida.

Hey guys, I'll be coming from Jacksonville, so I'm sure the east side of Orlando will be better for me. I hope that's not too selfish of me. Anyway. I'm looking forward to meeting up with a group of SC people. I've got a ton of questions and will be looking for alot of advice and technical support.

Thanks again to you Kurt, I had a blast. Anytime you're in town I'm there....

As far as the location Kurt and I found, it's behind the Eckerd Drug store at 7324 International Drive. It's basically a strip commercial building with many shops in front, and the parking lot behind it is about ~football field size, and was 90% unused the evening we were there. As far as cops and such go, I can't say whether anyone would have a dilly about it, no one was around at all, so someone would have to complain first for the cops to even know we were there. There's no visibility from I-Drive to the lot at all, and the very back of the lot was quite remote. Unless we sat there frying tires in clouds of smoke (always fun but admittedly counterproductive for not attracting unwanted attention) I would doubt anyone would get on our case at all. But then, I'm only assuming...

Now, we also have to realize, as Brad has said and knows from setting these meets up previously-we're never gonna please everyone. As far as east Orlando /Waterford lakes goes, that's fine for me too. Whether I have to drive an hour and fifteen or an hour and 45 for a perhaps 1x a year event is of no consequence, but that's only me. I fully understand it's harder the farther away you are. But for the folks from Jax or Tampa etc. does that mean they then won't want to make the drive over to Race Rock after? We all have to decide if that's the final destination for dinner, doesn't matter to me either way, but we need to vote I guess, because if we do Waterford lakes, then eating close by that area makes sense too.

If no one is married to the Race Rock as the last stop for dinner, then we need plan B for that. I know Waterford is full of them, so some suggestions are in order.

Remember though, you go east, the people from the west coast/Sarasota (Brad) and such have it harder too, I just think ANYWHERE in Orlando should suffice for all. Hell, we have one guy willing to drive up from THE KEYS!!! Ungawah!

Lastly, one final idea. We can always meet at Race Rock, BS a bit take a cruise together around that area and see the sights, come back to R.R , then eat there.

Same for Waterford. We just need a consensus. Let's hash it out and decide.

P.S. Reason I wanted this topic moved to the chapter forum is, I know everyone else conducts their local business in their respective forums, and not on Non-Tech, since that's why they were created. I would hate for us to get emails from a moderator asking us to do so, and I didn't want to wear out our welcome over there. But the thread is already there, so it's no biggie... It was great posting it there initially, to get this place up and running again, but at least now we know where to look for Florida related stuff. A nice change.

All I ask with the meet is that its somewhere where are cars can be seen...

I agree with Tbird93SC, as long as we're visible. I didn't realize that weekend I'll already be down at Universal Studios with my family, so east or west doesn't matter to me either.

Well we need a little more constructive input from others here. Like Dan, I’m not married to either location. The only reason I even mentioned Waterford Lakes Town Center is because it is away from the tourist area, close to Speed World, large parking lot, several chain restaurants, and I’m somewhat familiar with it. But the setting doesn’t matter to me one way or another. Were just going to check out each other’s cars and B.S about them in general. The location Dan has scoped out has a lower profile than the fore mentioned. This may very well be a good thing not attracting too much attention.

More input…………..

We are just all to aggreeable aren't we.... I'm the same as everyone else.... I was just throwing my 2 cents in.... either side is good for me... I'm like Superchicken, waterford would be less tourist oriented and probably more exposier oriented to park and BS... And I'm with dan let's try to keep this in our forum area rather than the non-technical... Suggest someone put a comment on the other post to see this post....

onequiksc

Ok, I wasn't aware some may want a "higher profile" for people to see us, that's fine with me, though it doesn't matter to me either. Remember, that can work against us if the rent-a -cops or the law see the gathering in a higher profile parking lot and want to hassle us. This happens to the Embry Riddle guys (ERMCA) when they try to meet in daytona. Also realize, any cruise/caravan we take from wherever will garner mucho attention from the public. But, we can always try and if we get asked to leave wherever, that's life...But I digress...

I was thinking a bit last night, that in the future, I'd like to scope out some of the recreation areas, and lakes ( Lake Emma, Eola for example) around Orlando (which i'm presently totally unfamiliar with) for a common area with parking/trees etc. that would suit the bill as a nice place to just park and BS. I will work on this, and maybe take a drive with the wifus over there to get some ideas this summer. It's really refreshing to have interest in SC meets again in Central Florida, because it's been pretty vapid in the last few years. No one's fault at all, just the way things were.
For now, I suppose we'll have to decide by the first week of June, so we do have a little time to think it through and field any new suggestions. We know what we have to offer presently, and they're not bad choices, but maybe some legwork /web work can turn up an even better alternative. I'll get busy.

I say we give it a couple more weeks and see what we got, then take a vote. We just need to ask ourselves; does the vote need to be unanimous or just majority?

I don't care if I get my way because...I don't even have one, lol. I just want to meet, doesn't matter where. That we all can agree on.

Phantom Menace

My 2 cents goes to Waterford Lakes Town Center. I don't like tourist's and I like traffic congestion even less. But, that's just me.

Ok Dan, Mr. Modesty!!! Listen to you, my car is a 95 and I'm afraid to park in the public eye next to that "model of perfection" of yours!!! Makes mine look too bad... :D God I love that black mirror on wheels of yours!!! I clipped a copy of it, and have it with Brad's and a couple of others for my desktop!!! With the caption "This is what it's all about!!!"

Just wait till the 35th gets done!!! No, never mind won't even come close, but at least I wont' feel ashamed to park it in the same parking lot with you guys!!

Well, thanks RJ, I wasn't trying to be self-effacing there honestly, I meant it in a different way - that the general public's attention to us wasn't what I was interested in per se, just the SC guys and our admiration of each other's cars was what I was looking for in a meet.

Never worry about what condition your car is presently in because to us, they are all pretty cool cars, good paint, bad paint, dents, we've all been there at some time. Besides, I know your master plan will give you perhaps 2 pristine SC's eventually, that will make mine look drab. I'll even help if I can. :) TTYL

i like the parking lot and race rock idea hidden or not yes its a tourist area but what area down here isnt plus who here doesnt like to see 10+ SC's cruising down the street
i was looking at the OSW schedule they are having their regular Saturday events and its not a open session test and tune going there watching the races is ok if some people wanted to try their luck at bracket racing thats fine but the time trials start at 3:30 and elimns start at 6:30 so if you ask me thats out
I will drive any where i dont care i drove 16 hours to Carlisle 4 years in a row driving doesnt bother me i love sitting in this car :)

now that i said all that i was reading my import mag and hot import nights is the same night at the convention center down the street from race rock so i say thats out because rr is going to be packed
there is a park off the same road as the track which isnt far from waterford lakes if going east on colonial(or whatever it is out there) its a couple lights west of the road that would take you to waterford lakes we went there for a altima meet a couple years ago and it wasent a bad spot but im not sure of the name or exact directions but this way we can meet then cruise some where

Brad,
I think the park you are referring to is Lake Downey Park (http://parks.orangecountyfl.net/ParkDetails.asp?parkid=14) . This is a good idea! Somewhat of a central location and easy to get to by Hwy 50 or the 408 expressway. After Dan's reply a few days ago recommending a park, I started thinking about a park to meet in. The only ones I'm familiar with are Lake Red Bug Park and Central Winds Park which both are local to me. But lake Downey Park is a better location. Easy access, well shaded, and close to many restaurants. Let’s see what others think.

I like it. If anyone can pinpoint a spot inside the park we can all find easy, i'm sold.

I'll look into it too when I get a chance, right now i'm off to work.

I wasn't sure if he was talking about Lake Downy Park or the Little Econ Park which runs there between Dean and Rouse Road.. Usually Lake Downy park is packed with the Union Park rednecks for the summer watering hole syndrome.. Or the little league games that are going on there all day on Saturdays.. Either one sounds good to me.... Somebody hook us up...

Where is little econ park? Is that Jay Blanchard park? If we are that close we can go to Bithlo speed way. I know the track isn't the best but we can do some racing. If there is test and tune that day. If anyone's interested I'll look into it.

Sorry, yes Jay Blanchard park... I'm a long time resident of the east side, 30 years ago that was 1 picnic table and 2 trees now it miles long along the river. I think Brad and a couple others said there is no open runs according the schedule out at OSW that day.. Looks like it will be a tire kick and eat hardy meeting which I'm up for...

Dan, Brad, Everybody still a go for this day and do we all agree on the Downey Park or Jay Blanchard Park location on the east side?? And then we can caravan to Waterford for any food we wish to have..

RJ , Bryan and whomever else is acquainted with those 2 areas should put their heads together and go ahead and make the decision which is best suited. I think the rest of us out of the area will be fine with whatever you decide.
Beedog , I was hoping you saw this, I was going to ask anyone if they knew how to get hold of you. I hope your car is running good at the moment.

Keep your eyes on this thread for the next couple weeks fellas, till we pin the exact details down.

BTW, just read where Kurt K (our celebrity SC guest for the meet) got into the 12's last night with his car. Let's hope he can keep it in 1 piece for us to see.

Since we are doing this on a Saturday Dan, I'll run over this Saturday and see what kind of crowds we have at each place..

Bryan you want to meet me over there and we'll check out the situation in both locations??

We'll see if we can find a shaded but expansive enough area for say 15-20 cars and their associated owners and guest to gather for some tire kicking..

If I can reserve anything I will try to go ahead and do it, don't really know if there is any thing to do for reservations.. I'll check the little 50s dinner in Waterford also and see if it would be a problem to get 20-25 people in there for burgers??? Or does everyone want something more for the get together?? Don't know what everyone's wallets look like at this point....

Let's see if we can get an accurate head count between now and Saturday morning... How many are ok with the 14th date and how many will be bringing significant others?? Everyone can chime in now..

Worse case scenario; we can always meet at a spot you pick, and if it's not practical on the day of for whatever reasons-we'll simply move off to find somewhere else in the park.

Last time I mentioned it to Kevin, he said he'd like to go. He got a new job but I believe he's asked for that day off. I'll get hold of him by weekend (he's not easy to get hold of ) and find out for sure.

I have bumped into a couple others in Central Florida that emailed me about painting questions, and left the link to this thread, but so far, they've been unresponsive.

Brad sent out a mass email last night I saw it this morning so maybe we'll get some more of the west Fl coast guys to come too.. This could possibly turn into quite a gathering if all comes together... I was at Waterford last night picking up some stuff with Momma and they have quite a large area of the parking lot fenced off for construction of the new Ashley's furnuture that's going in. It's such a massive parking lot I don't think it will effect us any at least not for just dinner parking..

Everyone join us!!

Hey Everyone,
It's been a while since I last checked the SCCoA forums, sounds like you have a pretty good turnout of intrested people for this event. I sure wish I would be able to attend but I'm down South in the Keys for the summer, though it's sounding worth the drive to come see this, plus I could check up on my house.
Hey Beedogg91, I attend Valencia Community College at the East campus which is only a few miles away from UCF and I live only about 2 miles away from UCF. I also know of two other SCers in that area one is Kamakazie1 who I met once before he live's in Mims and frequently is in the area, and the other person I know of is lessonintorque, who I also had the privilge of meeting the day before I left to come to the Keys. I will be returning on August 20th to start school again and always would like to met another SCer in the area drop me a line if you want to meet up sometime. BTW I work at the Autozone on Rouse Rd. and E. Colonial part time so if you're ever stop in and see a titanium 90 SC in the parking lot just ask for Greg.
SC ya later,

Ok, count me and the better half in (I hope!). We have some very pressing family issues and will do our absolute best to be there. We need to decide what time to meet. Keep in mind June 14th is the beginning of the rainy season so early to mid afternoon may be best?

Rj if you want to meet on Saturday and scope out the 2 possible locations, let me know.

I realized the other day that this is the 2nd Saturday of the month. What is the significance of this date you ask? The Mid-Florida Mustang Club has their monthly Cruise-In that evening not too far away. So, if all here were interested in showing their car, this would be the place to do it. Any car is welcome. I have been there with both the SC and Cobra numerous times in the past. Just another idea!

*******Ok here we go, Bryan and I meet up yesterday and scoped out the two parks... Jay Blanchard is going to be the best in both our opinions. Long parking and plenty of shaded area and no booming music to contend with. I still don't see much input on time, Brad said 12 noon, anybody else want to get in on this time decision. Bryan and I talked for a couple of hours yesterday, the time got away from us. Bryan had a good idea with the cruise up to the Mustang Cruise-in need everybody's input on that also. I will post some links to location of the park.. More later..*******

last night I toasted my AOD during a severe 2-3 shift (loud chirp!) on a turn, and i'm looking at a tranny rebuild it seems. Looking into Lentech as 1 option, I just hope I can have the car back in order by the 14th. If I don't, then I'll be in the GS, but I'll still be there one way or the other.

Funny how things work out, I wouldn't be able to make Carlisle now even If I wanted to, so I guess things happen for a reason.

It's gonna cost a ton of $$$ for a Lentech + install (rear seal and motormounts may as well be done then too), but in return I'll have one helluva better tranny under my right foot.

Oh and, RJ and Bryan, thanks for the homework, that place sounds ideal. 12 or 1 pm would work for me. Maybe we can just pin it down to one of those and see how many complaints we get with that time of day.

Sorry to hear about your tranny! I'm having my share of problems, maybe none that big though. lower ball joint replacement, something wrong with the abs (again)! Just put a new accumulator on last weekend. Brakes worked great for 3 days, now they seem to be getting hard again. Bought a code reader but can't seem to figure it out. Now the fan i wired directly to a switch burnt up on me on the way back from taco bell tonight. Going in the shop tuesday to fix the A/C. If I don't get it fixed by then I'll still be there in the Ranger. 2 weeks, I think i can do it! Noon or 1 sounds good to me. I'll only be 10 min from mother in- laws house.. Only a SC meet could get me to stay at my mother in-laws house lol..

I vote for early afternoon, 2ish....that way there is time to drive and maybe get some lunch before this all starts....but I'm easy, whatever works!
I'm kinda in the same situation as Brad, but not as bad as Dan! So I'm hoping that I make it there. Guess it's time to go visit the mechanic! I hope these car troubles aren't an omen for the get together!
OH, NO! and now as I'm writing this Jake is having trouble!!!
Jake, I have replaced the accumulator long ago and then the realllly expensive ABS part and more recently, some regulator thingy...just one of the SC's challenges, I guess..... LOL Margie

Sounds good to me. Would it be possible to post directions or a map to the park? Anyway, unless my car dies during it's trip to Carlisle next week, I'll still be there in my car. I hope to do a compression test on my engine before I leave for Carlisle just to verify everything is seating well after 1200 miles on the new engine.

Sorry to hear so many is having SC trouble.... I think I'll keep mine parked in the garage till the 14th.
As Richard mentioned, we met on Saturday to scope out the parks and Blanchard Park (http://parks.orangecountyfl.net/ParkDetails.asp?parkid=8) was the clear winner. The West End close to Dean Road was ideal. Lots of parking, quiet, and shade trees. We will all have to bring coolers with your favorite beverage and chairs.
It is quite easy to get to for all of the out-of-towners. I will now do my very best to give direction:

From North East:
I-95 south to Highway 50(Titusville)
Hwy 50 west (towards Orlando) to Dean Road (this will be about 35 miles?)
North (right) on Dean road 1 mile park entrance on right

From North West:
I-75 south to the Florida Turnpike
Florida Turnpike south to toll road 408(about 40 miles)
408 east to Dean Road
Dean Road north to park entrance (entrance is on right 1 mile north of where Dean Road crosses Hwy 50)

From South East:
I-95 north to Hwy 520
520 West to Hwy 50(about 20 miles)
Hwy 50 west (towards Orlando) to Dean Road (this will be about 15 miles?)
North (right) on Dean road 1 mile park entrance on right

From South West:
I-75 north to I-4
I-4 east to toll road 417
417 north to toll road 408 east
408 east to Dean Road
Dean Road north to park entrance (entrance is on right 1 mile north of where Dean Road crosses Hwy 50)

I hope this covers about everybody. You could do driving directions to Hwy 50(Colonial Drive) and Dean Road in Orlando from a site like Mapquest.com (http://www.mapquest.com/). I know there are other ways to get there from all directions but these are the easiest I think. If anyone here needs other directions, I'll try to help.

Dan. If you want someone to build that AOD to handle HP +torque, I know a guy that can handle the job. He builds AOD's for the members in the Sunshine State Cougar Club. He has a 70 Cougar with a built 460 cid and an AOD. It puts down somewhere in the area of 400 hp to the rear wheels through the AOD. Drop me a line if you are interested.

Hey Dan, those directions kind of lead you around the long way... Looks to me like Bryan has the cleanest straightest path to the park. If anyone really hates toll roads I can give you local non-toll road directions but traffic is probably the one killer if you don't take the toll roads. I will begin to post these directions along with any updates to keep up in the posts..

I found out about Kevin and it's not real likely right now. He has a new job (ASE tech) and he works 6 days a week including Saturdays, and I think he's afraid to ask for it off since he's only been there 3 weeks now. 'Tis life,

I'll probably bring my SC no matter what because she drives fine in all gears except 1st , and it's only noisy then anyway. I do hope to have a new tranny in by then, but if not, no worries.

Well, I found out today that my SC isn't going to make it to the meet unless I can get the new tranny by then, and that all depends on whether Lentech ships it out tomorrow or next Friday . I ordered it Wednesday and they said it might not make the deadline to ship tomorrow(30th) since they ship every Friday only. If that's the case, my shop won't get it till 4-5 work days after next Friday, and that would give the shop only the Thursday or even Just Friday before the 14th to do it, and that's pushing it.

So...I'll be there, albiet disappointed if I don't have it.

Weird that we haven't had much interest in a meet for a couple years, and my car is reliable as a Honda all that time, then we plan a meet, and BAM! Life is like this.

So, no rice comments if I drive up in a GS400. :)

Hey guys I was going to cut some club stickers and bring to the meet these are done in silver 3M vinyl and are in memory of Adam Mullen and any one who wants them get 2 free

I can also do the bumper letters but our colors are limited due to we do alot of larger signs and most of our vinyl is translucent and has a dull finish but the colors we do have in gloss are:
reflective white
reflective red
Ford blue
dark blue
purple
coke red
yellow
white
black
bronze
magenta
orange
green
and a slime green
like I said our colors are limited but there is a good range
price is $15
let me know if anyone is interested i will take payment at the meet to make it easy

Thanks Brad

Car wash... didn't even think about that... Let me see there are two "they do it for you types" close, don't know that anyone would be interested in that... let me think....

Yea, there is one just west of Alfaya on Hwy50... Just a few miles from the park.. It's a "do it yourself" jet wash.. right next to the worlds oldest and first XXX rated book store... Damn thing has been there since I was in Jr. High...

I think Steve just lost interest in the SC thing for various reasons, he'd had the car a number of years, and his dad bought it originally. I have been through those phases but something keeps me coming back. I think the friends i've made in the SC community are part of the reason. Although most come and go, you really do get to meet some fine people in the process.

Always good to see new blood too, and this thread (nearing 1000 views) shows there's still interest and enthusiasm in Central Florida.
Speaking as someone that's had his SC for 12 years, and been a charter SCCoA member back in 1996-97, I'm pumped up by it. Last year, losing Adam had a very negative effect on me and my interest in the car, but we push on.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing what they're up to with their cars and lives.

P.S. Lentech told me my tranny was due to be shipped either late today or at worst by tomorrow, putting it here by next Monday, Tuesday at the latest, so prayers are a help. My shop says they "can do" it by Friday the 13th (EEEK! I just noticed that! OMG!).

Well , double pray then.

I like them quite a bit. My car is only stock HP for the most part (some exhaust work and intake) so it helps with the part throttle response around town.

I wanted something more than the 3:08's it had in it originally, but I didn't want to go whole-hog with anything lower because I still did a bit of highway travel. No complaints. :)

Relaxing, eating and no body really commented on Bryan's idea of running up to the Mustang cruise that evening up the road... I think it would give us a good showing if we were to all show up there at the mustang get together with 10-15 SCs...

I kind of let that ride till we see everyone's mood on Saturday I guess... Unless a bunch of you want to get in on this conversation...

Hey folks, I'm psyched, my car is on the lift and the old tranny is out. They're getting ready to install the motor mounts, and they already did the rear main seal. I just recieved the B&M tranny cooler I ordered and took it to them. They should be installing the tranny tomorrow and with luck I'll have in back in the garage late tomorrow or Thursday. Talk about cutting it close.

Looks like I'll be driving it to the meet after all. (Fingers crossed tightly).

4 days to go people, pray for NO STINKIN' RAIN!!!! :)

P.S. Wyndell Bryant, another Central Florida SC owner, is selling his 5 speed car, see link, many pics. His car is in AMAZING shape. He wants $5500 firm.

Well I got it fixed all it took was coil pack, dis module, cam sensor, and driveaxle seals. Soon as I get it running the waterpump starts leaking. Better in my driveway then I-4. So I'm thinking waterpump can't take me more than 45 min right. WRONG! 3 hours on that little pump. Thought I was gonna be the first person to die from west nile virus thanks to all the rain here lately. looking forward to seeing all the cars on sat. I wouldn't mind cruising over to the mustang meet and checking them out. I have a code reader I'll bring, just a cheepo from wal-mart.

I will try to get to Blanchard Park before 1:00. If anyone arrives early, they will see a white 89 SC to greet them. I only hope the weather is good giving us a break from the rain. I may also bring the Cobra if the weather looks good to go to the MFMC cruise-in that evening. I am also trying to convince my brother to attend with his 93 SC. It is a daily driver and not in show condition with somewhere around 180,000 miles. I've told him not to worry about the condition and just bring it. We'll have to see what he decides to do.
If anyone is interested, I have a set of Suspension Techniques 1 1/2" linear lowering springs for sale. They are brand new never installed. I'll take $125 for them. If anyone here wants them, let me know in advance so I can get the down from the attic.

Yea I also have a 1969 Cougar XR-7. I've owned it for 27 years and it is presently under going a ground up restoration. The car is completely disassembled and the body has been tank diped and derusted. Maybe in another 3 years it will be completed.

Hows that superchip on the SC? Noticable difference?

SuperChicken89
06-13-2003, 09:54 AM
TbirdSC93....At the time I installed the chip and pulley together. I'm sure the hp/torque gains are from the pulley but the chip helps some with a mild retune. Not real sure how much the hp/torque gain would be without a pulley if any. It has been about 9 years with that combination, so I can't say what the SC is like with out it. The vast majority on this board feel a chip is a waste of money. The proof would be in dyno testing a car with and with out the chip.

my sc hates me, thats the bottom line. it has been running like crap ever since i got my new motor in about a year ago. i have changed everything on it. and last night it decided to not want to start at all. so i jump start it and after a while of tryign that it fires up. then it is running and all of a sudden the tach and stuff starts going crazy, then it shuts off. normal symptoms for a alternator i guess. so the day before the meet the good ol alternator takes a crap. now i cant get a new one for atleast a few days. none of the stores have one, they have to order it. im so pissed right now. i might take my moms shaggin waggon with but how much fun could you possibly have driving a blueish purple station wagon?? hopefully the new alternator will help with my poor riuning problem. but with my luck i doubt it. brian

Well guy's, unfortunately, I have to bow out. Like David Lee Roth sings in the middle of the song Panama, " we're runnin a little bit hot tonight". This morning as I'm coming home from working all night, I noticed the temp gauge hovering around 235-240. My mechanic can't look at it until Wednesday at the earliest. I can't chance it coming from Jacksonville. Somehow, calling AAA from the side of 95 doesn't appeal to me. What a drag, 'cause I was really looking forward to meeting everybody, and especially talking about our car's. Anyway, I'll be there next time, I promise. You guy's have a great time!

TbirdSC93.... I would think you should be fine. Just keep an eye on the temp.

Chris....Sorry to hear you won't be able to attend. Good luck with the car.

Hi All...

Sorry I'm a few days behind on this ...45/F...

I'm still planning on being at the meet, God willing and the creek don't rise (and the SC don't overheat, that is one of my trouble spots as well!)!!!!

And thank you for the phone numbers, I hope I don't have to use them...LOL

hey guys, i got the alternator on order, it will be here tommorow at 12 to 1, i live 2 hours away from the meet so i dont think i will have time to trough it on and make it to the meet. right now im kinda confused though, the battery is reading 12 volts, but i there are no signs of any juice to teh car. i cant even get any lights to work. is this what happens when you alt goes. i thought i would still be able to get the doors to lock just off the battery or does the battery run through the alt then to the accesories. maybe it isnt the alt and i can get it fixed tonight for the meet. any help would be great. brian

well guys im a champ, i got the alt out in about 30min. it was easy. its already for the new one. im thinkin about calling up autozone and asking them if i can go pick up the part from where ever they are shipping it from. probably tampa. about a hour away from me. this way i could leave at 8 and pick it up by 9, then have it in around 11 or 12. then leave for the meet and get there around 2. thats if everythign worked out right. or else i could wait till it ships to my autozone. probably around 1 and then put it in and leave at around realisticaly 3 and get in orlando at 5. but that might be way to late. are you guys still planing on hanging out at the mustang meet??? if anyone reads this and has any idea how late you guys are hanging out let me know. cause i will deffinetly make the trip even if it only for a hour of hanging out with only a few fellow die hard scers. let me know brian. my phone number is 352 5840232. please call me when you guys find out how long you will be chilln for. thanx a million i hope to see you guys tommrow. brian

Ok, folks..!!!! That was an absolutely awesome get together!!!!

Thanks to all who showed, and especially to our special guests KurtK and Jenn all the way from the great north.. And we are sorry we missed the ones that fell to the problems that plague our cars from time to time. Joyce and I got home about 10:30 from the Mustang Cruise up at Butler Plaza!! We had a heck of a good time. Big Al made those of us that stayed for the cruise feel really welcomed... Had a lot of attention thrown our ways...

Dan, kind of missed you and Bob and your better halves coming back from the run for Ice Cream!!! Must have been really GOOD ice cream guys!!!!... By the way where the hell did you go to get it!!! :D :D

I'll get these pictures pulled from the camera and get them sent out...

Had a couple of questions..

Beedogg!! Did you ever get the alternator on that beast?? Sorry about not calling you, I didn't get to see the message with your number till just now.... We were just wondering what happened down in your neck of the woods...

Lessonintouque!! I knew you looked familiar... I didn't realize you were one of the Yates boys.... I went to school with some of the Yates kids... Question.. Did you find your sunglasses?? The ladies where nice enough to place them on your windshield cause we couldn't find you guys after you walked off..

BIG QUESTION??? Did everyone make it home OK???

More to follow when I can actually keep my eyes open....

Thanks again... and yes the SCCOF is alive and well guys and gals!! It's really nice to see..
