Intercooler out....where do I seal?

As the topic states :)

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

seal the upper and lower mating surfaces, (ring area with bevelled edge). Use permatex Ultra Copper as it is O2 safe and withstands high heat.

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

What if you don't seal it?

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

You're car won't idle if you don't seal the tubes.

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

I've been running mine for a month without the sealed tubes....not a problem. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

thats interesting, if you develope a leak you won't be able to hold a vaccum and youre car wont idle, are your tubes completely clean or is there some residue that might form a seal? How about boost do you loose any at extended high revs? sometimes you'll leak when in higher boost.

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

Funny enough....the tubes were cleaned before they were put back on.

Boost is the same...14-15psi ever since I did the new intake.

Re: Intercooler out....where do I seal?

This may proove Wayne's practice of putting 2 completely clean and mating surfaces together in the precise configuration creating a good enough seal to maintain vac and hold boost.

(run-on sentance)
