View Full Version : Can a supercharger have an internal vac leak?

I just installed my "new" low mileage supercharger on my 89 SC. I start the car and it sounds like a vacuum leak coming from the snout!! Now before I flip out, the "hissing" noise is more than likely the pulley and the belt rubbing together (I forgot to get the rust off the SC pulley). But I just wanted to find out if anyone else had this happen before?

Thanks, and forgive my paranoia!

That wouldn't be possible as long as there was lube still in the blower, and even if there wasn't I still doubt it could happen and still actually be spinning without a major problem besides a hissing noise. It's probably the rust like you think.
