Late Model Oil Pump

I've heard that the late model oil pumps are much better then the earlier ones. While I have my engine apart, I would like to upgrade. Does anything else need to be changed also? Thanks.

Thomas,

No you don't need to change anything else unless your timing cover is worn where the oil pump gears ride. Your real problem is going to be finding one. They are obsolete and no longer made by Ford...I had a very difficult time finding one back in November and recently Kurt K. had to search most of the country to locate one for his new engine.

I would say 94 - 95 SC only, from the way the numbers are listed in the parts catalogue.

And yes, I'm still hoarding what's left up here for SCCoO members. :D

Thanks Ed. Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a pn handy, would you? My parts lady couldn't get it to pull up in our system. Thanks.

Good Luck! Even the surplus OEM dealers don't have this item. Pick-up Tube Part # is F4SZ-6622-A and will be just as hard to find.
