Sway Bar Bushings, is there a metal sleeve?

Whle doing my head gaskets, and looking things over, I thought i would check the front sway bar bushings to see if they were elongated and had "slop" to them. Surprisingly, they seem tight as can be! It appears there is a metal sleeve between the actual sway bar, and the poly bushing that acts as a bushing. This is a great idea on Ford's behalf, as the friction from the twisting of the bar would wear the poly, but the metal sleeve cures that. Now I'm wondering if the infamous front end noise i hear only in cold weather when going very slowly over a speed bump(sounds like cold rubber squeeking) is coming from this metal sleeve in the poly bushing, any thoughts guys??? Also, I'm guessing it would be a good idea to put some thick oil between the metal sleeve and the sway bar, it looks to be very dry, and I'm guessing that is where the cold weather noise comes from... Anyone agree, disagree? Thanks guys....
