Hey my 90 SC has started making a popping noise when I do a hard turn or pull into a banked driveway..thought the rack might be bad but had a mech check it and he said the bushings in the upper knuckles were shot:confused: anyone know what he's talking about? Mech says the knuckles are expensive too:eek: Can't I just replace the bushings:confused:

Sounds like he might be talking about the upper control arms ... those are sold only as complete units, they have the bushings and ball joint included. Should be fairly reasonable to purchase new ones, they are only about $80 per side wholesale up here in Canuckistan.

Best price I've found is about $45 /side for TRW part from RockAuto.com. There are other online sources as well for about the same price. Kind of a pain to replace, but a shop should charge no more than 1 hr/side. The joint and arm are all-in-one. Realignment is not required, and no other parts are needed for the job.
