Hello all,

I have a question regarding a setup without the AC compressor. Is there a way of installing a free-running pulley in its place? My compressor is going out, and I don't feel like replacing it. Is it more cost effective to replace or delete the AC compressor? Thanks for your time.

Try this for yourself: Take the belts off. then by hand spin all the loose pulleys to see what kind of friction they have. Then compare it with the A/C compressor pulley. You shouldn't notice any difference. The compressor only generates drag when the clutch is engaged which is when you have either the A/C or defrost running. If you unplug it, you're assured that it won't come on.
